This is what happens after a project stalls for a long time. It either gets gone or going........it was time for the ladder..........

One side of the rear fender wells was damaged on my 55 when i got it a few years ago.......been meaning to cut out rear fender wells to more my likeing for a while.....

I used a 32" tall X 17" wide racing slick i had to make the templet...from the center of the stock rear wheel well i measured up 8" and and started from there.......i still see a couple of places i need to do a little triming to get the arch in the wheelwell right.......but couldn't find right lug nuts to lock the rims down so i will have to wait so i can make proper measurements so i can trim out about a 1/16 of a inch in a couple of spots......

    The bad side.

The good side......(guess i will put it up in my parts pile incase i find anyone needing a good arch)

Next is to trim (read cut) out some weight and put the drag buckets in it ......have some high backs but found a source for shortback plastic drag buckets.........swap out the ****y 7.5 chevy camaro rearend for the ford 8.8 i have (it's the right width and has good strength, deal with it)......then on to the engine mods.......

So that's the 32x17 on the car? And that's with the 8" up from stock cut?

Good timing as I'm getting ready to do mine here pretty soon.

My bad i should of explained that a little better.........i am useing 29.5" tall slicks by 11.5" wide i used the larger slick to make sure the arch was large enough........i would have to backhalf the car to get those other monsters under it...........

And on the 8"s i started at the dead center of rear wheelwell then went up 8"s from there as my top point........i have to measure for suspension travel when i get a chance i may have to go up another inch or two........

Okay, that's why I was asking. I was suprised if those were the 32" tires with that much clearance. I have 31" tires on the way, so mine will probably cut out similar.

Where did you find that short back buckets? The only thing I've seen are the JAZ seats. They are a little expensive compared to what I can get the tall seats for. I may just cut down some tall seats and get covers to fit.

No need to cut a tall one.......dunebuggys.........they still make the short back plastic drag buckets for them and covers too.......they also make a kick *** dragbench seat think it is like 36 inchs wide for back on dune buggy......think i would kick *** in a small rod......been meaning to measure and see if it would fit right in my T touring...... can't remember the name of who made it but they advertise regulary in vw and dunebuddy magazine.........found it when i was working on a bug for my exsister inlaw several years ago and picked up a issue a few months back and yep still in there.........and price is cheap.....about the same price as the tall bucket like out of jegs or summit........
