I think I already know the answer to this, but I thought I'd check anyways. I'm building a '33 Ford coupe and will be using a '62 Nailhead. Will the stock manifolds clear the firewall and steering or will I need headers? (the car hasn't arrived yet, so I have nothing to measure off of). Outwardly, it looks like the left manifold is going to be a problem since it sweeps straight back.

I don't think that's what you should be worried about...
I would worry more about the starter being in the way, due to it being on the drivers side.
Why not run lakestyle headers, you'll clear both for sure, firewall and steering.

The starter will clear....I've seen nailheads in 32s - 34s and there isn't a problem. What I haven't seen folks use are stock manifolds. I'll probably go with a set of Sanderson blockhuggers, but just wanted to check.

The best stock manifold for a nailhead is from a 1960 model they provide more clearance on the drivers side.
    Hope this helps.:D
