  16. I tried to teach my 14 y.o. nephew a little welding, so we practiced and made this "thing". It's mostly Ford parts tack-welded together. We painted is with Duplicolor Metalspeck, then covered that in Krylon candy red Xmas paint. The red throw beads cover up some of his beginners welds

I went to the hardware store and got a socket and cord and a flicker lightbulb and stuck them in it. A little ImageReady created the "flickering"

It's going back to Colorado with him tomorrow.

The top of an old J C Higgins ice chest to store my paint rags etc. in.

The Fink on the pot is in memory of my mother. I think it was her favorite of all the stuff I ever painted. She showed a picture of it to everyone who would look.

I thought I would put some more on, a typical dry lake 34 coupe, a Bantam, and practice sketches of Gene Winfields T coupe. I like it when had the dual wheels on it. I might make a bigger one of that sometime.
I never have introduced myself to this thread, so here it goes. My name is Cory Vaughn, been drawing since I was 5 years old. All I have ever drawn was cars. I use to really try to get my work published when I was younger, and got some drawings in Street Rodder and some other rod magazines. Pat Ganahl got my leg into the magazine art world and got some of my work published, for which I will always be grateful for. We both had 48 Chevy 4-doors at the time, so I think that helped. David Bell was a pen pal too. This was before computers.
Nowadays I just draw for the hell of it. If I think up something I'll go put it down. I'm not a professional artist , so I don't know all the tricks. HAMB has been fun and the best move I've made so far. I absorb everybody's art, striping, paintings , sculptures, models, etc. and always have it churning in my head. I pick up something from everybody's stuff.
If you look in Street Rodder Jan.&Feb. '85, pg. 6 both issues, you can see my claim to fame. I'll try to find that stuff and post it.

We recently finished this and I thought you all might like to check it out.
The machine and back glass screen printing was done by Wade Krause.
Rolfe Britain did the flake and I did the artwork and pinstriping.
The theme is from an album I did for The Hellacopters.
    For more info visit http://www.ujuju.com/
Wade and i had been talking about doing this for a long time and finally started this winter.
It will be on display till July 4th '07 at the Lucky JuJu pinball arcade in Alameda California

    Thanks.
    It was early 70's Kinpin.
We added My shrunkenHead toys under the playfield.
Light all them up and you get an extra ball.
Extra ball was also a new feature the original game did not have.

Here's some more old nasty sketches. Some customs this time. The Chevy fastback I drew in '86. If I had my little magazines handy, I could tell you whose car it was. What if somebody shortened a 57 Ranchero down?More later.

This is all I have for this Friday. Just got started on this yesterday. It still has a long way to go. Basically it's the sketch and some color to see where I'm going with this.
    12X36.
Great stuff provided by all as usual.

Remember the Niekamp roadster? I really like that car and the article in Rod&Custom Quarterly about the Jake Jacob restoration. I always like these cars with the headlights off. More later.
