Heres a before and after So far... Worked out most of the mechanical bugs Olds 1pc windshield. and new side gl*** Bullnose strip Black rims and spider caps. 3 inch blocks and 2 coils cut Im having a little trouble deciding what direction to go in. Im thinking loosing the side trim and nosing and decking, it really needs paint but I dont think the body is good enough to go high gloss, and don't want to go flat black either. From mild to wild, what you would do if its was yours?
Like he said drive it. drive it !!!! If you lose the side trim go with some scallops. Remember the photoshop you did for me? If the body is not straight enough for gloss black try to find a color that is a little more tollerant of minor surface defects than a high gloss black. I'm leaning towards ***ian red now. But **** enjoy it for the brief Canadian summer and deal with it in the LONG winter. BTW I dig the spider caps! Todd
I like the side trim on those cars, I wouldn't shave it. A 1 piece front bumper without the guards would look nice, and I'd probably take off the hood emblem too. That's about it. If you're going to paint it, do the body nice and paint it shiney. If you don't want to go that far, just leave it. You're better off to leave the paint that's there on it than to sand it all down and flat black it.
First, I love those cars.... If it were me, I'd leave the side trim but nose and deck the car, get the stance as low as I could, and then just clean up the present paint as much as possible. That said, if a temp non gloss is a must I think a dark blue primer tint would be pretty tasty...
Fleetlines are nice! But: add brightwork around the windshield, lose the gl*** tint & bumper horns, maybe a little lower in the front... NO pin striping!
love those chevys the need very little to look good nose &decked french head lights smooth bumpers lowered flat blue light or dark
