My wife and me are spending our honeymoon holidays from April 19th to May 10th in the Orlando area. Is there a cars show or other hot rod related things that we can visit? We are spending the half of our time at the OWC, to do some wakeboard training but for the rest of the time we have no exact plans what to do. It is the first time in Florida for us. Are there some hot rod shops? I need some parts for my rpu.
Care to take a side trip? The NSRA SouthEast Nats are in Knoxville, TN, the weekend of May 1st. That's a solid one day drive from Orlando. They usually draw around 2,500 cars or so. The Nats are mostly street rods, but its still a good show. There are a lot of new product vendors, and a swap meet for old car parts. There are a few HAMBers up in that area, too. I'd be going, but I'll be stuck at work that weekend, again! Oh, well, it does pay for my hobby, though. Later, *****6.
I'll be up in St. Augustine meeting Dixiedog April 23-25, LA Quinta Historic District. PM before then if you want to hook up in the oldest city in the country.
Great, thanks guys. Nads I saved your no. Hotrodwalt saved your no. too To remember me, I'm 30 and have 2 rod projects, a 28 model A pu (will be soon converted into a rpu) and a 31 A coupe.
Don Garlits museum is about 1.5 hours north of orlando on interstate 75 just south of Ocala. Its right on the interstate. Lots of cool race cars, old iron and some rods. Sumter County swap meet is the first Sunday of every month. Its about an hour west of Otown, take SR50 west to 471 north to fairgrounds. Lots of my AV8 came from there. Enjoy central Florida there is so much more than the mouse. WHEN MEN WERE MEN AND CARS WERE STEEL
