Hot Rod To Hell isn't the only one to get run over this weekend. My sister's husband Don is a bartender in the sticks. He and his bouncer went outside to break up a fight. The guys buddies got in the act and it escalated to where one guy drove through the crowd. Don got his leg ran over and is just really bruised. Unfortunately Will got it bad. He is in an induced coma at the moment. The car went right over his chest, separated his sternum, punctured one lung and almost collapsed the other one. He has head injuries too. He can't breath on his own because it hurts too much. I don't know who else may have been hurt, it was chaotic so Don couldn't tell me any more.

  5. A lot of people just have no regard for human life anymore. A guy here got stabbed in a bar fight over a game of darts and died. Some relative of his comes home and shoots to death the suspect in the first murder, who is out on bail. Then you get to read the kid's mom in the paper telling how he's really a good kid and not violent. Bullshit.

I hope your brother-in-law and his bouncer both come through okay and don't have any permanent injuries.

Man, on another board I'm on, a guy's father was in the street talking on the phone when a woman driving down the street freaked out and drove into his lawn as he was walking that way, and knocked him down. People have lost their minds.

Purple - hope your buddy gets well real soon. Fortunately he's in the hospital getting good care, but I'm still sending a prayer for his health. Take care-

its crazy anymore. I was juror #9 on a trial for two mexicans accused of shanking a white guy behind a bar, over an insult. That same week my dad had a leg amputated (thurs nite)

Friday, we deliver the veridict, and I got to the hospital to take off dad's new prosthetic leg that's just put together wrong.

I was asked around 10 pm that night what I'd gotten done that day, and i didnt realize at the time the craziness of my answer:

"I was part of a jury that sent a murdering mexican to jail for 15-life, and took my dad's leg off with an allen wrench".

Life is so bizarre that you cant make this shit up.

I hope they throw the driver under the jail.
Last year I got hit by a drunk guy in Memphis while I crossed the street. After seeing I wasn't dead, he drove off while I limped back across the road to call the police and ambulance. No damage, other than really wrenching my leg. When the nice officer took my report, I gave him a description of the car and driver. Upon hearing the color of the driver, the nice officer stopped writing and told me that no crime had been committed, since I refused medical attention. They weren't even going to look for him or radio to be on the look out.
I handed him my driver's license and insisted he at least write down my information in case I ended up with a blood clot in my leg and died in the middle of the night. He wrote it down, handed me my license back and then told me he didn't know where there was a drug store for me to buy Advil and an ace bandage.
The guy at the register of Pig & Whistle pointed me to the large Red and White Walgreens sign three driveways down.

Sorry to vent...I always take it personally when I hear about someone getting hit by a car. You also have a WHOLE new reaction to seeing it in movies and TV once you've gone sailing off a hood.

I just found out they caught the guy last night trying to run. There were 6 injured, but I don't know more and nothing has been reported on any local news. Like it didn't happen. Will is still in the induced coma.

It was a regular, been going there for years and he owns a local restaurant.

That is just freakin insane! I just don't understand people sometimes. I mean when my buddies and I go out for a beer, we are there to have a good time and don't let egos get in the way. These guys who let it excalate to that are just sad.

Hope your buddies get better and that that guy spends the next couple of years in jail!

Working around a club has always been dangerous ... ( I was a doorman/bouncer ... many years ago ) ... We had a doorman/bouncer SHOT and KILLED here in my town a few months ago. He bounced the guy ( a lawyer  ) out for getting naked in a " lap dance room " ... the guy went home, got a gun and came back and shot thru the door many times ...

Fortunately the jury sentenced the guy ( a 60 year old guy ... ) to life without parole.

Hope your frinds get better ...

Well there is finally news coverage, this is the local paper. They got some of it wrong but this paper always does. It's amazing Don's leg isn't broken and the swelling is gone already. Will is gonna have a long recovery ahead of him.

OK, the guy is not a restaurant owner, he owns 1/2 of a performance exhaust shop. But its weird for a guy thats been a friendly regular for years to purposely do this. People making comments on the news web page don't realize Don is the only employee at that time. Will is just a friend that helps out and is not an employee.
