Okay, now it has the frontend and the Lincoln brakes and the cowl steering that I am using installed. Also the headers are done and the visor and dash panel is finished. Look at the pics and let me know if anything looks scary? the motor is an inch higher since the pics and I will be running 2" taller tires and no wire wheels when done so the motor won't s****e the ground. The motor is a 283 with 6 deuces and a powerglide.

The cowl steering is a later model power unit that I got from a fellow HAMBer last year. I'm just going to put some fluid in it and loop the lines together. It should work fine. Another Hamber Chaddilac has helpped a bunch on this project

    Love the truck.

Pitman arm is pretty long, and a power-steer box usually has a quick ratio. You might need to hire a gorilla to turn the wheel at low speeds. With such a light vehicle it might not be too bad, though.

My son and I are starting on his truck in a couple of weeks. Thanx for sharing your work. Keep everyone posted.

Glad to see you still chugging along on that pickup. The mint green really compliments the original green.
I know I've told you before but so glad you snagged that cab off ebay and came to TX and got it and are building it now. So many times the great stuff gets bought and then never gets built.

Thanks for all the kind words. The bed I have is the orig International. I just have not cut it down yet, but it WILL have a bed. I will have to shorten and cut the width a bunch though. I think the steering will be okay, I can turn it pretty easy now from the outside with the motor in it. I can't wait to get it going now that I sold my coupe.

The Coupe went to California to the guy that owns LA Exodic cars. Go figure? Went to Paso and had to have a hot rod.

Sorry, don't have any pics of the frame without the body on it. I will try to take some when I take the body off again.

Looks like your doing a clean, safe, build, something a lot of others should try to duplicate.

How much did you kick it up in the rear?

I like it 10,000 times more without the hood.

Yep, got the headers and they look real good on the truck. The rear is kicked up 24" the body is only channeled about 2". I wanted to have lots of room, I am 6'2".
I am still not sure I want to run the hood, but I wanted to have the option if needed. It fits perfect! I still have to chop up the original bed and make a floor, etc...
