Yeah, pretty sure that's a 37ish Stude Dictator business coupe. A quick google search will turn up some pics of stockers.
Can you get more pics? looks like the quarter window might be filled in on the drivers side possibly? and I don't see a quarter panel on the pass side, looking thru the back window! Fender doesn't match the 35 pontiac, although its' close.
I was going to say, looks GM; '35 or '36 Pontiac or Caddy but the headlights look all wrong. Maybe later additions.
Yep, I agree 35-6 North American Indigenous Native. The ribs on the fenders are the give away. It looks like there are three ribs on the rust car and only two on the nice green one, that's why I'm unsure of the year. Great fenderwell front fenders on the rust car, probably top of the line or well accessorized when new. I think studes in that time had a rear window that looked like an airplane tail turned upside down.
Can't be a '37 Stude - they had grille mount lights, this one is fender mount. And like Squirrel says, no suicide doors. Maybe it's my eyes or monitor, but I can't see the 3 ribs on the fender in the junkyard pic. If so, I'd say Pontiac. Wouldn't a sidemount spare be pretty rare on a business coupe?
Yah I just looked it up on carpics.com its not a Stude, weird back glass on them and no ribs on fenders -OOPS
Looks like it has knee action suspension.......that would make it GM. Suicide doors would make it '35-('36??)
The lines in the lower front fender typical of Plymouth & Pontiac, if they are in the metal. No way that's what it is. Studebaker No, I had a 40 Commander that's about the era of the car, the Stude's had a sharpe line in the crown of the front fender like the Willy's not a Willy's. Check the top of the fender. The closest thing I found was a 40 Lincoln Zephyr 3/w cpe photo. The side mount fender might just be a Lincoln? The headlight look's like someone put it on. I had a 39 Buick Century cpe somebody put dual headlight on each fender, different but didn't belong there. Some thoughts, nothing chiseled in stone. Never the less You don't see a lot of these, build it or sell it. Good Luck
Maybe sawzall & gasRus have something there! That Zephyr trunk is to long. I had a 37 Dictator 4 dr, the coupe a strong case. The 35 Pontiac makes a strong case. Check for that sharpe crown on the front fender. Check the wheelbase. Just when I thought I knew something, I found out I was wrong! It's not the first time
Suggestion: Bring home. Look for serial number or body tag. I mean, if I found that I wouldn't care what it was, it would be on a truck or trailer as soon as I could find someone to let me have it or pay them for it. But then I've wanted a 35-36 Pontiac 3-window for a long time now. It probably is a Pontiac, in my Pontiac book it shows the 35s as having two ribs in that same spot on the fender and two on the rear as well. 35 and 36 are almost identical, but 36 the headlights mount to the grille shell instead of the fender. Should be a couple holes in the fender tops for parking lights. If it doesn't have a Fisher Body style tag on it, the serial numbers would be on a plate on the right side of the frame, center of right front wheel. 1935 numbers are P6AB-1001 through P6AB-46752 and 6AA-100 (or maybe 1001 and book has a typo) through 6AA-32187 for sixes (standard, deluxe). Eights the numbers are 8AA-1001 through 8AA-42561. Wheelbases were 112" and 116 5/8" inches.
