I'm hoping one of the photoshop masters here can give me a visual idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. I've got a 39 or 40 chevy panel that i would like to do the following to: Chop 6-7 inches It will be using the cen-pen traditional air setup, and will lay frame. I'll be using a dressed up 48 flattie and a 3 spd manual tire and wheel size will be the same as my 36 dodge which Ive also included pics of. Front axle will be moved forward 16" from stock location Using 34 chevy master grille Id like the pic showing the truck all the way on the ground. I included a bunch of pics to mess with. Any help would be MUCHO appreciated!!!
Here you go my friend. This is what I did today @ work, instead of work! I had to add the fender on one just to add a little tail dragging look. The shadow needs a little work under the truck, I need to re-work the panel lines and I could have lowered it more. that's all for now Enjoy
When I Was Reading You Description I Thought To My Self..." What The Hell Is He Thinking" Now That I See The Photochop Ideas. Wow!! Very Cool
It's definitely different. I'd start looking for some fenders and running boards. Shorten the body by about a foot and take 7" out out the roof. Slam that BITCH! Add a flatty with some lakes pipes and call it a day. I know, not as radical but just because you can cut up a car doesn't mean you should. -stick
He has the original running boards. I see rear fenders on ebay frequently and the front sheetmetal is the same as a pickup...Jason
Heres my take on it, chopped 6 or 7 inches in front and about 5 out back, and shortened about a foot and a half.
If I can't find fenders for less than a small fortune, this is a good look. Well.....minus shortening it. I like the length it has now
Here's my suggestions... 1. chop 2. sectioned 3. shortened between the back or the door and the wheel lip 4. light primer gray on top 5. dark primer gray on the sides 6. and a scallop painted in a red-orange in high gloss. 7. paint the wheels and headlights the same red-orange as the scallop I LOVE THESE TRUCKS. Whatever you do with it... I hope it comes out well!
I like most of the photoshop-jobs done to it, never would of thought of the long layed out look, but it's cool, the one Bumpstick did, a couple of posts before mine, is my favorite. The rear axle thingy that was/is under the back has a pair of rims and tires that I loaned to Jason to move it. I'm gonna need those back at some point. No hurry, just don't toss them, OK? If he told you that they come with it and you need them, let me know. I'm sure we can work something out.
What could you possibly need those for? I know a guy that can make whatever wheel you need...I forgot where they even came from.. Sorry.. Jason.
I know, I know, but there OG ford wheels, and I have the other 2 to make a complete set, for future projects. It's not the end of the world if I don't get them back, just don't throw them away. I'm in Santa Rosa often, got family up there, so I can grab them anytime on any visit, no rush. Who's this guy you keep talkin about that can make any wheel I need?? Do tell
