I do lead a charmed Life..no one was hurt and not a scratch on Edsel..she chose that path rather than a creek bed..thru a plastic barracade, a barbed wire fence and up against a tree..So now Edsel gets brake overhaul, big master cyl., disc brakes, the works..Thank you Lord and my Lucky angels that watch over me and mine....
glad all were OK, my car rolled down the hill and jumped off a 4 foot cliff backwards the other day, those car`s ? what pranksters ! Edsel's had brakes ?
Sounds to me like a superb job of good driving while under extreme amounts of strees. Lets give the driver a huge attaboy.
'67 Mustang master cylinder is a bolt-in swap and provides dual chambers so if you blow a brake line you can still stop. No reason to run any old car with a single chamber master anymore.
Thanks for the tip, I will try this and also use an anchor..stopping that three ton car has always been an adventure..the day before my sister-in-law decided it was a good idea to park her car and WALK across the low water crossing! talk about Darwinism and survival of the fittest! how did she make it this long?
Glad the wife and car are o.k. My brakes went out on my '57 a couple of weeks ago while backing up. Slammed into a concrete wall, bent bumper, cracked taillight housing, wrinkled quarter. I need some of that wax!
Glad no one was hurt. Sounds like a good time to learn how to use the e-brake. Pretty sure this is one of the reasons it is commonly called the EMERGENCY-Brake instead of parking brake. Drove my 55 for 30 miles home with a busted brake hose using the e-brake.
I wanted to add that my wife called the City of Austin sign on the fence that she drove through and told them the location and extent of damage..they called back later and said the office was in an uproar..in the many years of managing thousands of acres she was the only one that had ever called about any damage done to their fences-they had only ever heard from the police..and in an Edsel! Everybody had marked it on their calendars....
