Not sure about which ones your using but, I bought a set of 5in1's for a '54 suburban. It has the larger openings and I didn't want to use inserts. I'm still in the set-up phase but it appears that they will tie right up to the factory hold downs.
I have a 5 in 1 for a 49 ford with a 5.0 ford engine in it. Very complete kit with good instructions. Well pleased with it. got a picture of it in thread 49 ford pics
