Not exactly. It's FOR girls, as am I As you have not been paying attention, I do all the maintainence on said car, just rebuilt the transmission, and I'll gladly pay the $1,000 - $1,500 a year the have a car with a (deserved) reputation for million mile service. Beats buying another car every 100K, or the maintainence costs on a typical other car at 300K. Where you get the idea that I am a bigshot for driving what remains a taxicab, I don't know. Maybe it's because you are driving a squad car?? I'm not trying to impress anyone, and no one is impressed by a 20 something-year-old Merc anyway. B bodies impress more; folks tend to think you are about to arrest them... And I have NEVER written a cheque to anyone to service my cars unless I am away from home and have little choice. BTW, how many B bodies have you had with over 200K on them with the original unrebuilt drivetrain?? Lastly, I answered the request as stated, with the only pic I had, why haven't you?? Cosmo
I have built my car on here (1946 Ford Tudor, now owned by Kermit), you just weren't here at the time (2000). Lost it through divorce (no, I don't wish that on anyone who posts ill of me, though there are many) in 2002. Said divorce is STILL ongoing (custody battles, I have custody, she wants to bankrupt me - she so stated), so there has not been the money for another rod. I look here because I have for so many years, a lot of the older people are simply CAR people, not needing to have a specific car to identify with, and there are things I learn and can share that are rod related. Sadly, some, like yourself, tend to need to identify with a certain type of car, rather than be intriqued by cars in general. Once I only wanted a rod, even got to where a '38 Chevy was my daily for a couple years (check where I live before commenting), then I saw there were other cars that had interesting points and I moved forth to encompass those cars. Hopping up a diesel has proven interesting, and satisfying. Driving a living piece of automotive history (2CV) has also proven quite entertaining. My wife's Volvo is dead boring, but she likes it, so makes my life easier. Basically, I'd like to be Jay Leno. He has collected different cars, because CARS interest him. A varied and diverse assortment of cars has he, from a Citroën SM to an Owen Magnetic, with no need for any rhyme or reason to any one type of car, he likes 'em all. True this is a traditional rod forum, yet we all get off topic once and again, posting about music, jobs, book signings and all manner of things not directly related. And I occasionally wander off with the tribe and post O/T. But by my post count, I do this far less than others, considering I have been here since before the turn of the century. So I will continue to post O/T on occasion, and I'll post on what I know about, and try to pass on information that might prove helpful from my own experience. And I'll try to educate those who might not know about all the wonders that are in the whole of the automotive world. And I'll give a $1,000 dollars to anyone who can bring up a post where I state that I own or owned an Isuzu anything. Cosmo

quit being pussies already and start talking about cars again. No need to bash people for driveing a new car. No need to brag on how many milels your new car has.
Mad Lad is right, I started this as a celebration of speed and recklessness and now people are talking about new cars and photoshoping speedos( although that is fun as shit) so lets get back to hot rods.
You fail to realise that the HAMB has gone through numerous variations before arriving at the current one. And NO ONE is registered on this iteration before it's inception, which was March of 2001. Previous post counts were not carried through, nor were identities. Rest assured, though, I was here before then. Cosmo
