Hey for those of you in the D/FW area that give a ****, there is a Brit bike swapmeet going on thsi weekend over at RPM cycles. For those fo you that dont know, they are the people that bought out the stock of Big D Triumph when they closed. I wish I could go but I'm leaving for Cozumel in the morning. If I could reschedule my flight, you better believe that I would!
I like TRIUMPH!!!!!!!!!!!! Rode this '49 T110 in the early '90s. Pre unit, rigit frame, Bonneville head with 2 Amal carbs, straight short pipes, 21" front wheel with Avon Speedmaster and a open clutch and primary chain. Not a sissy belt drive, that thing was a real oil throwing hog. sold it later my buddy Rico and got me T100 scrambler with factory hi pipes. Not as powerful as the hopped up T110 but still a pretty handy bike. Bought it from Randy Baxter a brit bike dealer from Marne/IA in '91. He did cut me a good deal on that one.
[ QUOTE ] ok cool thanks.. Theres a cheep 750 cc yamaha down the road over here for a decent price, didnt know the sound.. Should go take a look at it soon.. steve- [/ QUOTE ] that 750 is probably a triple, with a shaft-drive at that look for an xs650, they'e CHEAP and PLENTIFUL and you can make whatever ya want out of it (i've got a bobber project thats been sitting and a cafe racer in the works now)
