What did you guys with fenderless hot rods do for front turn signals?

Please show us some pics for inspiration. :)

    Neat!

But how well do you see them at night when the headlights are on?

Those Speedway ones look a neat fix , but I'd wonder about night-time visibility too . You could simply hide some smoked lens mini bike lamps behind the grille ?

On the other hand why hide them ? I used some repro Lucas ones with frosted lenses on my old '32rpu , with orange bulbs they just looked like side lights .

Sorry , best pic I've got , you can see them mounted to the side of the frame rails ...

i scored this old beat up set of chromed guides and swapped the markerlight socket to a dual filament socket so now they're turn signals and marker lights. i didnt like the look of running multiple bulbs on the front of the car. clean and integrated is where it's at! :D

I have turn signals in my headlights. You cannot see them for **** during the day, nor at night with the lights on. They do look neat when its just getting dark though and the headlights are not on and the whole headlight bucket blinks orange. Mine ****, Im not happy with them.

B-31 Guide backup lights - they match the headlight bucket shape.

I have a set of the speedway turn signals and you are right they are not very bright but it is cool that you don,t see them until you turn them on

I put mine on my cowl. I like it this way because it definitly sets the signals apart from the headlights. Also I don't have singnal indicators in the interior so I can see them flashing.

where did you buy the socket that fit? did you drill them out....i've looked at auto***** and advanced but didn't see anything......there is a kit on the net for $25 but it only has the gasket, bulb and socket.....not worth $25 in my book......

You can get your pigtails at NAPA, and they will fit in your old sockets. If you use the Speedway conversion you can see them with no problem at all if you change the bulds they include in the kit with Ron Francis "Brite Bulbs". You can even see them with the hi-beams on.

    Here's mine.....WWII Dodge blackout lights.....same as IBB41 above.
Found mine on Ebay....NOS in the box, wrapped in Comoline.....
They really need brighter bulbs (L.E.D.?) though, as the blackout "lens" is thick and doesn't let much light p***

Late40s-early 50s Guide or other backup lamps make great front or rear turn signals. Replace the bulbs with modern amber bulbs and you have a great looking lamp with a clear lens and a very bright and n boticeable amber flash day or night.
We used them on the 32 3W mounted on top of the frame horns just in front of the radiator shell.

These are what Flower put on her open wheeled truck, they came from the local Harley shop and that little washer under them is a valve spring retainer.

i thought of using motorcycle marker lights which look much like those on the frame rails. just sitting in traffic one day and a guy beside me on a HD had a pretty neat marker light on his front fender of a wolf with its mouth open and the lens sat in its mouth...
