I have a 53 buick special and am in need of some rear brake shoes. I cannot find anywhere that carries them. Napa, autozone, Lee auto, nowhere. I got a pair from Napa that looked like they would work, but not go. literally. So I guess my question is where can I get a set of brake shoes for the rear of my 53 special? Thanks ahead of time

This should get You a pair of 53 special brake shoes.

Brake & Equip. Whse Inc. 455 Harrison St NE Mpls,MN 55413 Ph # 612-378-3141. They have wheel cylinders, master cylinders, shoes, etc. for many makes, the old stuff. I bought wheel cylinders for my 56 Hawk there. I get my Buick goodies there.

  5. Kanter doesn't have them? Google up Kanter auto parts.. I forget their URL.

Check to see if theres a Midway Truck Parts store nearby. They reline shoes for trucks and relined shoes for me several times with just a 1 to 2 day turnaround.

here are the sites your gonna be using often. Ive had five Buicks so far seems more often than not you'll have to order most everything. Autozone and NAPA have been pretty usless unless you have a ford or Chevy.

I checked Brake& Equip, 1.75 wide. Nothing on hand, He said they can re-line them $55.00 for a set. I usually have good luck with them.

Try to find a local Brake and Clutch shop. I get mine relined.
