brady -- I was just on ebay and saw your add so I thought I should give you another tip. Recount the main gears. the cluster underneath is sometimes hard to count I usually mark the first one that I count with a piece of chalk. The 16 tooth Main drive gear should have a 28 tooth cluster underneath it. The 15 tooth mdg will have a 29 tooth cluster under it. It may be possible to mismatch them (I don't have enough experience to say if you can) but if they are mismatched it is likely that this setup will not last long!
Sum of input gear plus front gear of cluster equals 44, so direct count of visible gear does the job on all combos!
I think what MN Falcon was getting at is that brady1929's ebay ad says that it has a 16 MDG and a 29 cluster. Which according to the 44 doesn't work. He should either ***ume that it has the 28 cluster or recount to make sure. So what does the cluster first gear look like? I am looking for one of these transmissions also -- but if I am going to pay upwards of $350 I would like to know what the gears look like -- Mac Vanpelt sells this gear for $175 alone so that is the most important one. If that one is bad the value of your transmission will go way down.
whoops i screwed up, i did not know that. appreciate your help. i am selling a lot of stuff to be able to afford a 32 5 window body or project. my reserve is 350 but i paid 400 two year ago. i saw someone on there who wanted to sell the shifter for 165 alone. thanks brady
