Alright fellow hambers, I'm in need of ideas for mounting my gas pedal. If you got any ideas or just want to show off your pedal ***embly post some pics please. Thanks
Well not to be an ***, oh well let's be honest to be an ***, anyway. What will be cool to the bone in Wilbur's Stude my not even be a choice for what you're building. Why not fill us in or drop us a pic of your current dilema? Anyway I'm useing an old drum peddle in the Stude. I got a Moon peddle hangin' on the wall and I don't doubt that if I dig I can find a s**** layin' around somewhere in my junk. So it really depends on what ya gots goin' on.
Being that I owned a couple Volkswagens when I first started driving, I've always been a big fan of the 'roller' pedal. So when it came time to put the throttle pedal in my coupe, it was the natural choice. I took a Speedway s**** pedal, lopped off the s**** part and welded a genuine EMPI roller onto it. So far it feels good. I can't wait to get the car out on the road. At that point, I can give a full report. Vance
Look here and scroll down to part #525: http://www.stockcarproducts.com/acc1.htm This is a nice neat installation on a flat firewall that takes care of the "bellcrank" and firewall penetration all in one simple step. Some mid sixties Ford products (especially trucks) used a very similar unit.
Heres a pic of my setup. The gas pedal turned out to be a bit tall so i have shortened it abit. Works fine now.
Those are some really nice pics. Ok here is what I have. I got an older S-10 gas pedal setup, and I need to mount it. In order to do this I need to bring it off the fire wall around 3". Which I would rather not do. Since the truck is channeled I'm just sitting here thinking of ways to do it. I'll post pics soon.
Here's a picture that HotRodLadyCrusr (Denise) took of Doc's brake and gas pedals while at the Cinematic.
This is a Lokar, drilled hols, changed the s**** angle, bead blasted and painted black. The Roadster has a gennie.
One of the neatest tech threads I've seen on the H.A.M.B., two parts: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61920 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61922
