Arlo - were you trying to sell it on Craigslist? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/pts/338257583.html Odd story here? Explain... .
He refuses to call the cops? I bet they have it , towed it off as an abandoned vehicle. Bet its sitting in the local impound yard. Just my .02
gotta pm that a buddy had called him...he told the guy that it was stolen when he asked if he still had it for sale!. so that parts true..im just wondering why he was tryin to sell a car he was building! but afterall, even if they were goin to and decided not to....what would you say if you were tryin to find a stolen car and were terminal??? i would make it our to be very heart strings if thats what it takes! so i have now made myself more confused! someone call him and tell him to post the story!
Or, giving him the benefit of the doubt, he bought it off of Craigslist and that was the only photo he had to show what it looks like?
I doubt that since it's his name and # on the craigslist ad. Smells fishy, but I'll remain open minded...

Damn... That seems like someone is trying to take advantage of the caring people and generousity here on the HAMB... Wouldnt you at least change your ad to say STOLEN, if you were trying to get it back? Or have mentioned that due to personal reasons you had considered selling it, but then decided to build it. Or at least mentioned that you were selling it a while back, and possibly check out anybody who came to look at it?
Anybody figure this one out yet? Seems like old Arlo has stopped posting since you guys started asking questions........
you nailed it! thats what my mindless babble was tryin to say! thanks for typing it lots more gooder then my lame ***ed attempt!
Maricopa County Sheriff was calld the day I noticed it stolen. However, if the car came back "on it's own" then I would just tell the cops it was returned. I build rockcrawlers now, but at one time me and my buddies were building hotrods out of my shop, then we went to sand cars. That's when I was going to dump the car and build something offroad for my son. He showed alot more interest in that old car than in offroad Jeeps etc. He just apparently didn't have the heart to tell me. He finally told me what he wished things would be like in his life, and the car was mentioned a few times in his story telling. That's when we switched the project to the Plymouth, his at***ude changed. He became more involved in trying to obtain parts. And I was happier knowing that we both were doing something "we" both wanted to do. So, yes, at one time it was for sale...... Then my eyes were opened
great!!!case solved!!!! now back to findin the sedan! thanks much for clearin this up bud...we gets iffy real fast when no one replys!!!!!
Arlo, good luck in your endevours. My neighbor p***ed a few years ago, and through a mutual friend (Weyfairer) his son's '47 Chevy is going to see the road soon. This is much in the debt of the HAMB. There are an amazing group of guys on here that came together to help a kid out that they've never met. At times it may seem to be a ruthless place, but if you look around, you won't find a better place for help. And to all of you that supported Emilio, thanks from someone who appreciates everything you've done for a deserving indivual!
Cool, thats good to hear that... You should throw something on craigslist saying it was stolen... Did anybody come look at it when it was for sale? They might be the first people you should check.
Give someone the benefit of a doubt first. He posted around 11:30 am on a Sunday. Not everyone posts or reads the HAMB 24/7. A lot of people I know work M-F, 10, 12, 16 hours a day sometimes and might not have access to a computer. Arlo has told his side, so we'll all keep our eyes peeled.
Can anyone else tell if this is a '34 Plymouth? I know nothing about them but from the picts I pulled up on the web it looks like alchemy might be right. In some ways it looks right and in some ways it doesn't??
I've got a '34 plymouth coupe - based SOLEY on that (I know nothing about sedans) I would guess this isn't a '34 Plymouth. My coupe does not have a visor. In '34 the windshield was laid back slightly in '33 it was not. In anotherwards if you sight down the leading edge of the door it will be a straight line on a '33 but on a '34 you'll see a distinct angle change for the windshield. I was always under the impression that these features were common between coupes and sedans - I dunno for certain.
I hate a theif. any news on this car??? it's not a 34. looks like a 28 to 31. if the front doors are regular and the rears are suicide then it's 31 or down. 32 and up had all 4 doors suicide. also 34 didn't have the visors like that.
