I thought about writing this long post about safty, and rules, and such. But why waste my time. Maybe in time we can meet face to face and talk about it then, hmmm?

I don't know Bob, Somtimes I just feel like the whole Hot Rod world is a softer, nicer place. And maybe in a vane attempt to hold onto my youth the rebel in me pops out.

Fiddy does a burn-out infront of his house with the nieghbors egging him on, and gets jumped about being un-safe and a jerk.

The S.F.I.S.B.D (think thats right) posted thier awesome races, and some here didn't think they belonged and should take the time and effort to make it more legal and safe.

And Saturday the club I hang with here (for the past 30 years) that used to go outside of town and race on the highway till we would get busted, used to rumble around town with open exhaust scaring women and little children, used to show up wearing our jackets at the drags and run till we blew somthing up, then set in the parking lot and laugh till 4 in the morning. My bad-boy club, said Saturday we are going to take our cars to the retiement home so the old cats and kittens can see them, and next week are having a food drive for.... whatever it was. It seems like a old lion thats lost it's teeth and whimpers instead of roars....

I kinda miss the days when we where ... to quote Ryan... Hoodlums. you know? Not bad really, just .... hoodlums.

Anyway it's all good Bob, come to the drags and we'll have a cold one together! A coke that is, I quit drinking.... LOL!!!

 

...or something...i guess i'm the only one who just doesn't live in front of their computer.

So I guess you don't read the paper or watch the news either. Even if the other incident didn't happen,it's still irresponsible to allow something like a wheelstander on a public street,with people standing in harms way. DUH!!!

We used to street race every weekend,when I was "young and dumb". Now I just want to hang with my buddies and talk cars and help each other finish our projects. Your perspective changes when you have kids,and want to be a good example. Not everybody feels the same...obviously.

Yep , the way things are going we wont be able to even go to the pits anymore. Just think what could happen if one of them nitro cars fell off the jack stands while starting it up. I can see it now no more people going to the drags because of no drag racers going brcause the threat of being sued. If you dont like it or if its unsafe dont go watch and please dont let you kids go. And dont start bashing me about loosing a kid. I DID.... So I know what its like. And yes I will prob. be rooting on the next burn out. And again if you dont like em dont get around em.

wheelstanders are really cool, but they honestly don't have any business on the street in that kind of evironment. Phoenix has the cruise on central show thats been tamed down a bunch since it started in the past years becuase stuff like that. Nobodies been hurt, but its better to prevent it before something bad happens.

 

I took my kids to the local 4th of July parade and was watching the bands march by and those symbols clanging. Then it hit me, what if those came loose and came at me like a br*** buzz saw what to do ?
Next the fire trucks came and they were going like 4mph blowing their siruns and throwing candy. What if the candy hits my kids in the eye, what if the fire truck loses control ? I'm sure that much weight and even at that speed it would kill that poor old lady in her wheelchair down there.
Guess what ? I'll be there next year watching the brightness in my kids eyes as all those horrible things go by.
