Ross pistons - 11.3 to 1 comp.
Edelbrock heads that are warmed over.
674-262 @ 50 solid roller cam-roller rockers
Le Mans rods
3' s/s exhaust by FEDSLED AND FEDER
10 qt pan
to top it off the VERY FIRST! electronic 8 hole HILBORN INJECTOR. Blue Thunder made the manifold for Hilborn. The injectors are 4 ea 2 port with 2 1/4" throats.
All coupled to a toploader and narrowed 9" with a 456 aluminum cased strange chunk.
This is gonna be one BAD *** FORD! We will have it running for the Goodguys nostalgia drags in July.So all you chebby guys in Seattle better tune up and BEWARE----FEDER

I'm not a big Ford fan (except '48 and older) but that is one BAD *** car. I'd like to see it run but I'll probably have to wait for someone to describe it to me.

I like it!!!!.....should be a Kool ride! ....but I still bring my Chev up against this 39!

 

I have a good friend with a "street" '66 nove that has a 434 SBC in it that ran 9.98 with a single 4 barrel and no juice..

But none of that matters, his car dosn't even come close the the look, style, and just plain bad *** presence of that '39!!!!
And with that mill, i'm sure it's gonna hold it's own.

Well this isnt a racecar it will be street drivin. That was the reason for the e-lect F I . Fedsleds 4 door Merc ran 12.30s with a 428 and 4 speed at 4200 lbs. And it also is a street car.Ths 39 weighs about 3300 Im thinkin it will run mid 11s we will see.Im pumped cant wait cause I love them FEs. And yes there is always sombody faster.--FEDER

Of course, the true matchup would be a 427 W-motor against a 428 FE or a 427 Mk. IV against a Lima-series 429. Sixties tech against fifties? The FE would get blown out.

 

I can see there are MANY bench racers here. WE WILL BE at the nos drags in July with 2 FEs and a Mopar 440. Bring em on, all of em.---FEDER

WHOO-HOO, better bring thee woo-woos boys cause it looks like it's gunna be "PUT up or SHUT up day". looks like the FED's and the BAILEYS will be representin the blue team, and 60's style and FAT ELVIS will be standin in for the pink team, kiddin guys, but looks like it will be fun to see bench races evolve in to drag races.
By the way didn't a big block ford just spank the chev on the pump gas challenge and there sure werent many W-427 puttin thunderbolts on the trailer or walkin away from the galaxy's at daytona.

Ummmmm Trent, no offense, ****tttttt (cause I know quite a few SBC thatll just blow your mind...... ie, stupid fast), but unless if youve driven a nice warmed over big blick FE.............well, lets just say, Im amazed everytime I get to drive/ride in one!

That thing (yes once you add bolts) looks just plain scary if ya gear the rear-end well! That looks like a damn death ride! (From a fellow FE owner)

Anyone rememer when you wher e a kid, and put your cousins motorcyle engine onto the go-kart?? FE, Its better than that.

Even though a 429/460 is a "better", "more modern" design, it will never be as cool as a big honkin FE.
