My Dad and I are going to Missouri. this weekend to look at one and maybe pick it up, we'll see. I'd like to give him some ideas on what one could look like....

    Go to carnut.com

Click on the index of car pics, then Chevrolet and look at 50 & 51 hardtops. Lots of good ones, especially 51s, which were just slightly different from 50s.

When are you going to MO? We have our monthly breakfast this Sat at 8 a.m. at Village Inn, I-40 exit 125, which is the HWY 65 exit if you're headed up toward Branson.

Here's my 1950 Chevy bel air that I just got and I'm trying to decide what direction to go on customizing it, with my limited ability it will have to be simple and "bolt on"

Hi, Bill ... nice car. It needs a lot of UN-bolting ... you can sell all the garbage option stuff to restored car folks for enough $$$ to build another car.

    Is it in Columbia MO?

If so - Damn You! :D

I've been eyeing one near Columbia for a few weeks now, but I can't decide if I need it bad enough to pay the asking price.

I hate to lowball a man, but I'd also hate to pay what they're asking, so I haven't been back. Perhaps the new year will bring a greater need and more funds at the same time. ;)

Either way, if you can swing the price and it's not see thru, I'd buy it. Like my old man says, "They makin' no more of 'em."

  24. Mine is not a chevy but from the "darker side" of GM. These were taken before I removed the overrides and hacked up the grill.
