Hey everyone! I need some HotRodder input on a switch panel I came up with for my 1927 Ford Model T Track Roadster. I needed a switch panel to help clean up the dash area of my car and came up with a design that looks and feels like the 1940's Art Deco style that I am trying to go for in my car. It matches the Limeworks Column Drop and Stewart-Warner Gauge panel that is in my car. I have a contract to manufacture more of these but I want to know what kind of interest there is in it. I need to purchase a minimum quan***y in order to get the price down were it is economical for the average car builder. I talked to Limeworks but they kind of blew me off and said there customers wouldn't buy it.....funny...it matches there column drop...it sure beats the hell out of a bent piece of aluminum.... So is this something worth pursuing or am I wasting my time? I would have Dealer pricing if anyone is interested and if I have enough interested on the HAMB I would go out on a limb and order some. Any takers? Thanks for you input ahead of time.. Ike
Be careful. It looks an awful like the switch panel sold by Vintage Air for their A/C switches. I don't know how exact exact has to be if they have a patent on the panel.
I thank you for bring that issue up. I am in the patent pending stage for this right now for this product. I reviewed the market for months trying to find something like this but no one offers anything. Vintage Air uses theirs for their system and it is a lot different in use and style based on the Patent laws compared to what i am offering. Thanks for your input! Ike
It is a very nice looking piece but, for my tastes, it's a little too big & chunky looking. I want a switch panel to be small & unobtrusive - not the focal point of my interior. I bet a lot of people will like it though. It is a nice part. Good luck with it. JH
It looks like a nice piece and I recognize the work you've put into developing it. However, it doesn't look 1940s or Art Deco (1920s-mid 30s) to me. It looks like a modern ribbed billet aluminum piece. I also agree that it's too big. I think it will be popular with the street rod crowd, and you will probably have a lot of interest in it though. I would market it as "finned aluminum accessory panel" Best wishes to you!
no hard feelings , but i agree with those above. it has a "billet" look to it, and it is rather large. it becomes the focal point distracting from the dash. nice work though, and probably a market out there for it,justt not in the traditional area.
Not something that I would necessarly use but, I appreciate you work and craftmanship. Just remember regardless of what I think there may be a 100 more out there that like it.
