  2. that's really cool. I like the black hole in the grill.. maybe a black mesh material or something? something simple anyway.

  3. Some dude with an OCC tatt is looking for the wheels off his Suburban............

  4. Spider webs, skulls, and a few maltese crosses would be "Rat-tacular."

  5. yay! another thread gets dragged into snarky comment land because he said "rat" and has shiny new wheels.

    it really gets old sometimes

Those wheels are just the old roller wheels off of the donor.

Nasty dump exhaust behind the cab
steelies and beauty rings with spider caps for sure.
Tinted primer (blue?) over the whole truck.Pearl white roof
weld in four veritical bars in the grille.
Throw some fat pinstripes on it and call 'er done!:D

ps: lose the late model side mirror and go with something vintage.

Go for the old 'drawer pull' look for the grill.

Some sort of expanded metal insert shot black, then a a zillion of the small chrome bullets mounted to it. Space the bullets out a bit.

  9. Does a '39 or so pickup grille fit right into that hole? Or was the big truck one different.

  10. Thank you:D

COEs are kinda quirky I like them, Miles M has a neat hauler out of one.

Nope, the P.U. is a different shape and size than the COE. The hood you see on the later pics I made out of a early Hudson hood. The visor is the front portion of a small beemer hood. But dont tell anybody!!! They always ask, where you find the cool visor?:p

Thats a nice looking couple! I was wanting to make it a fifth wheel puller, then make this into a fifth wheel.

I thinking one Big Ass Spider with the body right in the center of the opening, 8 legs holding on to the edge of the oval. kinda like its protecting its nest. maybe some real fine expanded mesh behind it?

get a RATFINK running in a wheel or on a treadmill, painting in the grill ,
that can be done on a mesh so you get air flow

it will look like RATFINK is powering the truck,

    or not:p

I agree, the stock grill is the way to go, if you can find one of course. I like the bed sides, the chop and the visor! How much did you shorten the wheelbase? Did you use the stock frame, or something else. Love those COE's!!

Ok, dont laugh!!! I had an extra 76 Trans Am laying around. Well I used the front clip, 400ci motor and tranny, I built my own rails and used the Trans am drive shaft and a chevy 12 bolt rear end. Some one ton leafs out of a Dodge ram. So its got the same foot print as a Trans-a.m... hense the shiney wheels. Being I made the hood, it isnt close to the original size or shape of the stock grill. Plus those things arnt just floating around any more. The ones that i have found are in really bad shape. Id rather build one to look original than try to make one fit.

I think it would look amazing with a stretched '34 grille in it.
And with a pair of large diameter exhaust stacks with angled and baloney cut tips.

Should the stacks stick up above the cab? If so how far?

  26. I know a guy near me that's making the 38-40 hood in fiberglass. Ain't seen it, but ..... I can probably put you in touch with him. ;)

I reallllly like your chariot bed, dude. Really like it! You might have solved my problem of "what to do for a bed" with my 40.
I assume you used pickup rear fenders, eh?

yeh, I like the old round back tow truck look. the tail gate follows the same contour. The rear fenders are 39 ford. I used the running boards up to the stock COE step. Worked well and flows pretty nice. I cut the bed floor out of a 80's chevy pu. sliced it right down along the wheel well. So the bed is 8 ft. long X 4 ft. wide.

Man, that's cool. Keep us posted..... pics, pics, pics!!!!!

  29. Is the front end / grill opening the same as the first pic? The last pic is too dark to see it.

The Hydrex spider (big metal black widow on exterminator trucks) might look okay, but probably not.

    Thanks,
    Kurt
