Well, my scanner is broke. But if you know what a '50 Coupe de Ville Caddy or Buick Riviera looks like, they have the same roof line. And then they have the Olds front and rear sheet metal. The 98 is a big car, based on the same body as a Cad or big Buick. The 88 shares the body with Chevy and Pontiac. Hope this helps. I think they're gorgeous cars. But I'm prejudiced as I have a '49 98 Holiday. I can post a pic of it, but it's not the same as a '50.
Maybe not what you are looking for, but here is a few from my website from the 2002 Ducktail Run at Gas City during the James Dean Weekend of Larry Grobes 52 Olds (now known as VooDoo Larry). The car underwent many phases and is the most widely known. Pretty wild. http://www.angelfire.com/in4/jamesdean/DKDSCF0017.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/in4/jamesdean/DKDSCF0016.jpg Here is my favorite earlier version of the same car at the James Dean in 1999.
'50-'51 98 Holidays are a different car than the '52-'53 as far as the designs go. The early cars w/o power steering are a ***** to drive. '53 98 Holiday is the most sought after of them all.
My buddy, Diesel Eddy owned the white and gold one for some time, bought it from the original builder, and Joel Scheipe had the peach one built...one of the nicest customs built in the early 90's. Anyone have a pic of the the guy who did the Carson Tops's Olds? The first version. Gaylord...WOW, what a killer Olds that was!
There was a 53 hardtop in the KKOA Trendsetter this month. 56 Packards, 55 Poncho Safari Rear Bumper, Nosed, Decked, Shaved, Frenched. Unfinished, but really really clean and complete san motor and trans. Gorgeous car I though about selling some stuff so I could pick it up. I love these, bttt.
Thanks for all the pics guys! The owner e mailed me pics of the Olds and it has more rust then I realized.I was on the fence because I still like my Ford and the rusty pics pushed me over to the Ford side.If I had the cash I would make him an offer to have it as a longer term project.
here is one from paul bragg, he has been working on it for a few years and it will soon be back at home in fresno cali.
