Went to pick up a maverick parts car and just happened to find a hemi laying there. Being a total hemi novice I made an impulse purchase and bought it too. Got home and looke through my meager hemi and think it must be a 1953 241. Oh well, still a neat looking engine anyhow.
Is there any of the manual transmission parts that I should save? How do you get the torque converter/flywheel off? I would guess that I am gonna have to get an adaptor to use a modern ****** with it?? Thanks-

Fluid Drives were bolted directly to the crankshaft on the flange where a flywheel would normally go. You have to get up between the fluid drive and oil pan to get at the nuts.

Yeah its weird, it has a manual transmission with like a 2 piece aluminum bellhousing but it also has a torque converter???? Totally foreign to me...
