I found a Marmon-Harrington 4-wheel drive in the Dakota's. With Your trucks look. It was cool, it had some Wing emblems on it, it just looked right.

My buddy was ready to go get it. He found one like it ,not as good locally. He did a test fit, He didn't fit in it very well, he's a Big boy. The dog house was cramping his space. It all depends where you put the motor, I've seen some mid-engine.

You may or may not have this problem. Just a problem he ran in to. He built a 38 Ford Pickup. The grille in the Pickup & COE Look similar.

The opening is about the same, even though that hood was a goofy mess that someone tried to build. But as far as looks its about the same.

That thing is sweet, someone has some great metal skills and an imagination. I'd love to have one slammed as a transporter.

Make a giant V8 logo out of water jet and roll it so that it buldges out the opening? That would look sick!

The stock grille in those trucks can't be beat.

I'd make my own version of a stocker. Shouldn't be hard with some round stock & a little time.

Well, I did a little something different with your wheels and grille. Just some ideas or at least a visual.

I would run some mesh until you find a stock grille. As far as I know, all the hoods interchange up to '47.

No problem, Although I do wonder how it would look with some wide whites on it.

I was thinking the outlet ending just slightly above roof level. Best to eyeball it yourself, mocking it up with conduit or something.

You've built a great stance into that truck. Nice work!

I would recommend about 4 inches or so above roofline with a slight reverse curve on the tip so the tip leans towards the rear..

Ok, im goin to start looking for a set of bad *** stacks with heat shields. Then ive got to get started on the grill. It might be put on the back burner again for a bit. Sounds like I will be streching a chevy COE into a club cab real soon? Thanks for all the input!!!! If there is anything else that pops into the cranium that it needs, let me know. Thanks for the help!:D

  19. Figures, I need an early (40-42) Hudson hood.

Grille wise, as long as you don't do something that looks like teeth, it should be fine - I like the photoshopped version too. Or the same with 3 or 4 tubes vertical down the middle. as long as it has some art-deco flair to it it will fit the truck and look like it belongs there.

Aint that the ****'s! I tried to find the hood a home for 6 mos. to a year. I chop it up, and heres someone that needs it! Sorry dude! Yeh, Im going to keep the decco look going for sure. I also want to explore the patina paint thing. It looks like it would be a blast to try. I think I will take it as far as the air brushed bird **** collecting on one of the fenders? LOL

Very neat truck. How much ****pit volume did you lose with the chop and channel? Those cabs are not known for their amazing accomodations in stock form, so it makes me wonder a little.

I was going to suggest some sort of fabricated horizontal slats for the grille, until I saw the photoshopped grille..... nice work on that, by the way.

I am a supporter of steelies or something like Americans. Another option to consider might be landspeed disks.

Finally, despite the clamor from more than one poster above, I think that whitewall tires would look silly. Please note that such style decisions are only opinions, and your opinion might be different.

All the cool kids are going shiny paint now. And the skulls, spiders, Iron Crosses and fake rust is showing up on Hyundais and Kias. You wanna be cool, doncha? Old working trucks are like old working men. They've earned some respect. I recommend that you respect your hard work and great design ideas by giving the truck a nice finish. I like the truck, so far. Please don't turn it into a cartoon.

I COMPLETELY AGREE. A SKULL SHIFT KNOB OR AN IRON CROSS MIRRROR ARE ONE THING. BUT A WHOLE GRILLE MADE OUT OF LIFE SIZE HUMAN SKULLS AND A SPIDERWEB HOOD MADE OUT OF ROUND STOCK, THESE ARE JUST PLAIN REDICULIOUS. KEPP IT CL***Y. FLAT PAINT, SHINY PAINT WHATEVER YOU DO KEEP IT CL***Y. GIVE IT THE RESPECT IT NEEDS.

I got the trailer after the coe with the thought that it would be a matched set. The trucks were made from 39 to 48, Im calling mine a 1940. The trailer is a 1947, mfg'd. by the Aluminum Trailer co. in Glendale Calif. Hull #186

I have a 1947 KIT teardrop trailer made in California. Mine's a two person, gotta be someone you really love, with a kitchen in the back.
Best of luck on your COE, you know what you're doing.
