    Hi Hambers;
    Wonder if anyone can answer why the both rear wheels are exactly toed in the same, almost two inches. The rear of the tires are like about 3/4 inches from the skirts.:mad: As I remember they should be almost even with the front wheels, looking down the side.
    Thanx ...Tex

    how did you measure the toe in? by measuring from a body panel , or using a gauge the check?

    By eyballing the tires with the body...Maybe the body is bent the same on both sides or the rear end is bent?

    Umm.. I don't think there is any toe in the rear wheels. The shoebox body is far from a box. It tapers toward the rear and is the fattest at the cowl. The wheels in relation to the body may look toed it but they are probably not.

    Thanx Brickster;
    the tires are 2 inches from the skirts in front and one inch in the rear, but like you say, looking down to the front wheels it is true,,, So the body is not square.. I'm wondering about that one inch clearance at the back now. Oh well nothing can be done cept leave off the skirts, or take it real easy. Thanx again.

  6. Toed in? WTF! Do you mean narrower track than the front? If you're just looking at the front of the back tires,compared to the back of the back tires,it's because the body tapers toward the rear. Not sure what you mean!

  7. you should check it with a toe gauge if you think somethings wrong. a simple one can be made with few scraps of metal .measuring from the body does you no good

    If you have any toe in or toe out on the rear axle, It's bent. The front track is probably about an inch and a half smaller than the rear.:) :D

    I'm ok now... It's the body taper. Just seems odd that it really tapers quickly, one inch difference from the front of the rear tires to the back of them... Thanx
