I need everyones personal opinion

i say 53 with a ****load of teeth.
and the grille surround molded in

 

I like the 53 with extra 53 teeth. That smooth 53 blade bumper looks so much cleaner than the "wavey" 54 bumper too.

 

i think 54 grille with 53 teeth would look cool

 

Officially, the Rockstars With Torquewrenches dig em both. I run a 54 and am gathering extra teeth as we speak.

 

I vote 54 but as you can see in my avitar I'm a little bias

 

I got to go with 53.... maybe cuz i like 49 - 52's better than 53 - 54's and a 53 is closer to a 49-52 with the flatter bumper and the overall look of the grille.

of course one being in much better shape that the other could sway me to think otherwise.

53 grille arrangement for me, 54 taillights over 53s . personal preference bill. 53 and 54s are killer. im sure yours will come out nice. goodluck

It looks like the majority here is for 1954 so that means you should build a sweet 1953 with what you've got and sway their opinions. I've got the 54 and like them better but I think Ms. Metal has that pink 53 done up just right so it stands out to me. Be the one that folks say "I like 54s but his 53 is the cats ***."

I need 54 parts as well so if you decide you don't need any of them, let me know!

 

I would stick with the 53' front, too many people changing they're 54' into 54's. Sell the 54' front and recop some money for your project. Just a thought

I like both also, but if I were to choose for myself it would be 54 and customize from there.

 

well, im only 21 years old, saving money to build a house and have 2 cars on hand. Like I said the '53 is my project and the '54 is my parts car. what the '53 didnt have to put together, the '54 does. I pulled the nose off the '54 tonight and just set it on the '53 and i'm kinda liking the looks better...has a lower look in the front. Should have pics soon. I know its my project and I'm gonna build what I wanna build...i just like to gather everyones outlook on things to help make a decision. Thanks for all of your input guys.

I have a '53, and I like the '54 front end MUCH better. The only thing better about the '53 is the front bumper. But stock or near-stock, the '54 wins hands-down.

I think the 54 looks better, But I have a 54 so I may be biased. But with so many 54s around..., Someone said the 53 bumper looks better and after looking at the photos, I think so also. Try to use the 54 fenders and grill, trim the lower panel and install the 53 bumper.
