A few weeks ago I posted my brother in laws 32.I wasn't sure why he would sell it.But 1 girl in college one on the way to college and another wanting to go in a year or so,I can understand.Well the 32 sold and it didn't take him long to dig up another great find. He's pretty ****ty like that. Here are some pics of his barn find 39 merc conv. This car has original black paint.Someone put red and white seat covers on it.Painted the dash and firewall white. This was driven out of the barn and onto a trailer. The 32 was great but this car is cool.I'll post more pics when I get some better ones.
Great find! You could always try and convince him to will it to you and then stage a fatal "accident" when your "helping" him work on it.
1939 Merc convertibles do not come around every day-- They are RARE, and nobody is re-popping them like 32 roadster bodies!!! Tell your brother to e-mail me if he has any 39 Mercury questions I can help with... jay Photo of my Merc heading to Paso by Denise!
Way cool! I have a 40 Merc coupe that will be my next project after the 34 coupe. There aren't that many Mercs out there -- especially converts. Should be a really cool car to build. What are his plans? Think he'll keep the flatty?
Yeah, it's hard to call that a barn find when it's so nice it makes my barn finds all look like **** -
True barn find.It only came out once a year for a 10 mile ride.I'm pretty sure it's going to stay the way he found it.He also has a 37 knucklehead he found in a ba*****t.I'll get pics of it outside. He was going away when I got down to see it.So I did the best I could. We bought a 40 ford pickup off the guy(rough). And he mentioned about the merc. And there in the back of the barn it sat.All Bob did was wash it.
Very nice car, good luck with it. I'm working on my 39 Merc coupe here in Holland. My car has a lot of lower rust, but hey it's a 39 Merc.
