I posted the other day some of the graphic work however it's now been cleared and I decided to put together a little overview of start to finish. All that is left is some wet sanding and polishing, but we are going to re-wire the car, convert to disc brakes & 12v (alternator, lights, door poppers, etc). Thanks to Mark, John, Chris, Chritty, & Scotty Don't for all their help! There are a ton of pics at http://www.oarenj.com/buford but I am just going to hit a few of the highlights through the stages. I have chrome smoothies (thanks Pat) and 3" wide whitewalls to go on as well as countless other things. I am shooting for it to be back on the road in ~2 weeks.
Looks good. Keep us updated. How long since you drove it? I didn't drive mine for about 3 months (painting also) and it about killed me.
WOW....not my favourite traditional flames, but i like to see something different...looks really unique! =]
Thanks all, I know it's a love it or hate it thing, I actually have varied tastes and am all over the map, I want to do a clean 40's sled next. I haven't seen too many custom 4 door Roadmasters out there so I figured, what the hell
I like what you have done, I am not knocking it, but I like traditional flames, sorry! The paint job looks great! Rags
What do you mean by "barf" is that because you dislike the car choice or because you just aren't of the friendly sort?
Nice work. I've been predicting that 70s style vans will be the next "Thing". You're gonna be a rock star then.
Very cool indeed. Nice to see a different take on the flame job. Very unique. Show pics when done please.
I don't see why you call it a buford (in the link to more pics) it is neither a Buick with Ford power or a Ford with Buick power. Weird.... Nice job on the paint, I'm just not feeling the tribal stuff....
I'm with you there, ZMan. I think we could use a dictionary of car terms. A Buford is what you said. Or it's a big cheeseburger at the Rally Burger called a Big Buford.
I have also heard it as a Ford/Buick bastard child, however its mroe of a term of big arse car for us. Buford was just a fitting name
