I'll be in LA (Anaheim) all next week for a conference, can anyone suggest anything cool to see/do related to cars, rods etc I know the area is a hotbed for
cars, just need to know what to look for. Also any good places to eat as well.

Dont want to do the normal tourist "things"

    Thanks

Since your in Anaheim, try Alberto's on corner of Lampson and Harbour Blvd. They make killer Mexican food and have an excelant shrimp burrito! Friday night car show on mainstreet in Garden Grove just off Euclid street and Garden Grove Blvd. A few guys line up in the am to power park in the pm!

The NHRA Museum is about 30 minutes north on Anahiem. Big Barris display going on now.
If you've never been to the museum, it is a must.
PM me for directions, if interested...

Anaheim and LA are two very different ares...If your in Anaheim,go to Disneyland or Knotts..It's fun to do..Or hit up the beaches..Take in an Angel's game if thier's going to be one while you're down here..

  6. Gotta eat breakfast. Might as well join the Anti-Donut bunch. And since you're gonna be up early (jet lag) check out the pro-Donut group, the Donut Derilicts too. Good cars and company at the first and nice cars at the latter.

I see that you have Conrad's old digger in your avatar. The NHRA museum is a must for you.

Like burgers? In N Out is only found out here. I like my double double Animal Style.

Like to go to the beach? Crystal Cove is the one you want. It's Laguna Beach without the rampant faggetry. Seal Beach is an old time California beach town. The Abbey in Seal Beach has good beers and pretty good happy hour food.

    Have fun.

Are you going to Cisco Networkers next week? Me too. This thread is perfect timing, I was going to ask the group the same exact thing.

Thanks for all the info you guys.

Since you're probably driving by map, It's HARBOR Blvd, not HarboUr Blvd

And everything is "freeway close" in So. Cal. but don't try to drive across Hollywierd late Friday afternoon unless what you want to spend the entire afternoon is dto drive across Hollywierd
    (That's actually spelled Hollywood) ;)

Albertos is best at 2 a.m. and dont forget to go to the Elvis bar right next to the car show...good drink specials

rampant faggetry! bwahahaha!!! A lot of old ones..yuk!

You have to pay at Crystal Cove though...state beach. If you want drinks you can go to Newport and go to 6 bars about one minute from each other and yards away from the sand..but parking sucks

I hear the Abbey is great! I gotta get down there and try the Belgian beers on tap. I usually only get those at Yardhouse.
Oh yeah dont forget to try Animal fries at In n Out.

I'll vouch for the CoCalCarCulture site being a HUGE help during my visit last year. I hit no less than 3 local car-gatherings in just a couple of days. The NHRA museum was awesome! The building looks small at first, but plan for a minimum of 3 hours. I also made it over to SoCal and MoonEye's. Big fun at the 1/8th mile drags too http://www.irwindalespeedway.com/dragstrip/index.asp

I know that the local news paper in the Corona area has a weekly car event schedule in it. I think that one is in Saturday's paper.

Check with the local Anahiem papers inline before you go.

Oh and one other thing. Go to the water tower in Yorba on the Tuesday night that you're in town. That way you can get on here Wednesday and bitch at all the locals that didn't show! Bob will appreciate the support.
