I've been collecting parts for my '29 Sedan build for a couple of months now. Thought I had everything figured out. I found a great sedan body, suspension components from Riley Automotive, traded for a '58 348 w/three dueces, and I ordered a frame. Z'd front and rear and ready to start ***embling once it arrived. I even sold the original frame that I got with the body 'cause I wouldn't be needing it! I should have been ready to start ***embling the suspension, chopping the top and was hoping to have it on the road in a month or two. Now to the problem. The frame builder is no longer able to finish the frame. Does anyone know where I could get a similar frame? Has anyone bought an aftermarket frame from brookville, etc? Or is it time to start building one myself?
Thanks man! I'm waiting to hear back from bobbleed. Hopefuly he's not too booked up. I'm ready to get started on this build.
Yeah. No ****? It's not my first time on here. Try doing a search for "model A frame" and see what you come up with. It kills me how many people have nothing better to do than tell other people how to use the search function. Apparently you don't have anything more to contribute to me, so why bother replying?
Listen, You crabby reverend, there's a shop in Elgin, IL called the Roadster Shop. Their number is 847-742-1932 Hope this helps. Also try T&R Auto in Hamond, IN ask for Tracy he will point you the right way to your new frame. His buddy Andy builds them all day long.
Stock style Model A frames are everywhere. Always have 4-6 hanging on the rack. If I was you I'd build it yourself. 2X4 rec tubing, cutoff saw, wire feed and some imagination. Go for it!
Yeah, I just sold one of the best stock frames i've seen in a while. Cheap. I shoulda waited until I had the new one first. I really don't want a stock frame anyway. I've got everything I need to build one except for the experience. I was really looking forward to getting a custom type frame from someone who builds frames.
No... Not really. I didn't ask what I needed to build a frame. I'm asking other peoples experience with frames built by other people. Thanks to the people that actually replied or PM'd with an answer.
Cornhusker Rod and Custom, Alexandria Nebr. No disrespect to all the other ch***is guys on here. I've just dealt with this company in the past ( He's built about 4-5 ch***is for me ) and have had excellent service with him. All the ch***is were top notch and went straight down the road. Gary
Guys, guys; one of the problems here on the HAMB, is when it comes time to search for something - like "after market Model A frames" - if the original poster didn't use words like "model A" and "frame" in their subject line, it can take forever to search. I saw one the other day that said; "What should I do??" - it was about "A" frames. Another went 15 replies and NEVER mentioned anything about "A frames", even though that was what the subject was about. (wasn't mentioned in the SUBJECT line either) You need to think of "key words" in the subject OR the "body" - which takes forever when you're searching; - OR STARTING a new THREAD.
