I bought a "basket case" Quadrajet....all was there but all apart. Bought a rebuilding kit to put it together but it doesn't give measurements for lean idle, idle-air sgrews etc. It just says to pay attention to where they were when you took them out....I didn't take the mout though!
It was originally a stock carb for an '86 Monte Carlo SS (305)
Anybody have any ideas how I set it right without taking it apart a hundred times?
    Thanks

Careful, and '86 monte carlo should have been a feedback carb.

What about that lean idle screw inside or that spring loaded one on top?
    Thanks

That carb is pretty complicated.Look at the exploded view real careful if you didn't take it apart. Also,if you're planning on putting this on a non computer motor, stop right there, that carb will run full rich all the time as the metering rods are electric instead of vacuum.Get a different carb if that's the case.If you're putting in back on the 86 Monte let me know and I'll give you the settings.

Very generous, thanks. Since I'm keeping the computer on it, the newer ones would only be the ones to work. If I decide to ditch the comp....I'll take you up on your offer.
    Thanks

the "computer" is easily byp***ed. I had a 86 ss, swapped in an older hei and an older carb, (a**** other things) without a hiccup. Best was with a 377/th350, ran so much faster to 120, who needs overdrive?

Quadrajet has caused me nothing but problems on my G-Body El Camino.
