I am in need of a rear end for my 53' Ford. Going on a skateboard trip up Hwy.5 from Monterey to Stockton. Anyone know of some decent junkyards that would have old Mavericks, Granada's, or possibly 58 Edsels? I have done some calling around from web searches but I can only find junkyards full of Foriegn cars. I think I need the greasy old pit that doesn't turn over there cars quickly, or ever!

Shame yer not headed up to Redding, I know of a good one in Palo Cedro. SJ Valley I'm not sure of, gotta be though, search the Madera area. This post makes makes me wonder how many PM's he's getting on the down-low.

  3. On Hwy 99 south of Stockton is pick-n-pull, they usually have some old Granadas and possibly a Maverick. The hard part is finding a granada with the 8-inch rear, most are the weaker inspection cover type. I doubt you will find any 57-59 Fords in any of the junkyards unless it is a real old one that also specializes in old cars.

Used to be several around Modesto and Ceres off Hwy 99,your best bet is to take Hwy 99 instead of I-5 you will pass a fair amount of yards all the way up.
