I've always loved early vettes. Here's some photos from the NCRS meet today.

    1956-57

This one's my favorite because I get to ride shotgun all the time.
It's my brothers car, Aztec Copper, dual quads and a stick

No problem here, very nice. I'm a bit of a Corvette fan myself. ;) Of all the C1, or pre-Stingray cars, I find the '57 the most aesthetically pleasing. There's just nothing about it styling-wise that could have been done better. It had just enough of everything without too much of anything.

Corvette with poverty caps...gotta love it. If it came with 'caps, it was actually used the way Zora intended.

  10. Love 1st Gen Vettes, Had a 59 and a 62 back in the the 60's and 70's. Until these cars became more or less show only I never saw one equipped with dogdish hubcaps. They are fun drivers and as simple as they come. Your brothers car looks great.

Thanks for the great pics. Friend of mine has a 63' split window he bought brand new. Paid $3600. 327 and 4 spd.
Funny, I went to a corvette and cl***ic show. All the cl***ics were being cleaned by the guys. The corvettes were being cleaned by the guys wives. Guess I'm gonna have to get a Vette......

Never off topic here, I love the early Vette's. Thank you for the pictures. My neighbor has a '57 that he drives the **** out of - Autocross, track day at Laguna Seca, Drag days, Etc. It's not un-common to see him drive it to a race and pull it home on his car dolly after breaking it.

    Thanks Again,
    Tim

  16. I dig em. Especially the ones w/poverty caps. Gives em a hard look

Your brother's '57 is NICE! Great color combination. Thanks for the pics. I'm almost done with my '63 SWC. Red/black, 327, 4 speed.

  22. This looks excactly like my 57'.

But I had electric windows... They were supposedly "Stock" but I never heard of that for 57 Vettes! (Any way of finding out the production numbers with electric windows!?!?!?)

My old man had a nice '61 with 2x4bl. Long story, but his transfer of the car led to my purchase of my '66 E-Type...

    Awesome stuff!

The Corvette Black Book lists only 379 vettes with power windows. Out of 6,339 cars only 487 were Arctic Blue. So you have a really rare combo. The one in the photo has power windows and power top, and he's the original owner.

I thought everyone here would enjoy these vettes. The L-88s sounded awesome when they brought them in.

With the stingray racer style rear, the '61 models are the best of the C1 vettes

Thanks for the nice comments. I hope you post pics of your car. The best thing about my brothers car is he drives it alot, usually with the top off.
