I was blown away by the metalwork on this bare 31. It's a Brookville body. The stance, wheels and finish were all perfect. I was dying to talk to the owner, but there wasn't anyone around... and I have managed to misplace the shop's card. All I remember was that they were in Escondido, CA. See the rest of the pictures HERE. - Joe
I assume you're talkin about the show a couple months ago there? That was one of the BEST cars there.
the car belongs to and was built by jimmy aka rouge on here. groucho not the goodguys deal, they had a small car show along with the del mar fair, you know rides, farm animals, and if you walk around the wrong corner people riding farm animals
If he still has it, wait til Jimmy rolls out his RPU, if you want to be knocked into next week by metalwork... Yeah, he goes by "Rogue" on here, and he isn't on too often, but he also puts on the Ranch Run, in North Sandy Eggo...
That IS Jimmy's rpu! The work in that is so awesome! I've been privledged enough to get to see it while he was building it. The detai in it just doesn't show well enough in the pics. The frame in paint was at the LA Fathers day show in 2006. jerry
Yep, Jimmy Rules! I was lucky enough to get the call to build the headers. Can you believe it? The lunatic trailered it all the way to WA and then he paid me, as well....
Oh, okay, I guess that explains it. I only saw the cowl, motor, and grille shell in the photo, and haven't seen it since it was all together. Yeah, Jimmy knows WTF he is doing...
Hmmm, let me see I think Jimmy used to be a LIFTER... He has had his 32 sedan in a mag and.... his first roadster someone dude bought who did not say that Jimmy built it is equally as nice... Pretty good for someone that drinks like a fish...
i saw that car at the jalopy shop...... very beautiful car and he was nice enough to help me adjust my doors on my car, hats off to him!
Glad you like the car. I get concerned when I see pics of it 'cause it doesn't look that good. Much better in real person. If I can save some money up it should be getting painted this winter. The metal etching is getting old. Two other people have made things for the car and Paul did a fabulous job on the headers. Lets hope they don't rattle apart when it gets started up. Oh yeah, the steering wheel is the other part that someone else made.
Nice work. That's just "my" style of hot rod, minimalist with a big engine standing front and center. I love it.
You need to drive that on the 2008 Ranch Run! Fantastic work, really feel privileged to have been able to see it during the build! jerry
Amazing car - I was knocked out when I saw it at the Fair. - When is the Ranch Run, I'd like to see it again. Joe
Wish I could see it in person. That is a work of art. Straight forward and clean. Hats off to you Roque. Fitysix
speechless...wow...the entire interior area, the molding, and subsequent flow, of the steering box/motor mounts...the cowl...fan shroud...Damn.
Hey Trent, you should see Sam our 3.5 year old on a bike. I'm gunna have to do a video and put it up somewere. He is incredible. He goes as fast as he can and puts his legs up on the center bar while turning at high speed! We don't know were he got that from but it's allarming.
