I was visiting my parents this past week and my dad suggested we check out a nearby farm where there were apparently a bunch of old cars. The owner had died recently and his widow has moved into town. We located the farm about 2 miles south of town (still can't believe all of these cars have been sitting so close to home all of these years!) and went and had a look around. Lots of cool stuff! Probably 200+ cars ranging from the 30's to the late 60's. Many are write-offs, most are half-buried in the mud, and a few even have trees growing through them. But there are lots of good parts available (grilles, bezels, emblems, trim pieces, hubcaps, etc.). Unfortunately none of it is for sale. The widow doesn't want anybody back there until she can determine what everything is worth, which will probably never happen.

Thought you guys might enjoy some of the pictures I took. The pics don't do the place justice. There were tons of pontiacs, chevys, and fords, but I focussed mostly on the old mopars as well as some of the really old stuff.

  11. appears as the livestock are still around as the weeds are just not too hi yet

talk to the bank and make anoffer on the property including all thats on it... most realtors would have to remove the pollution /junk before a propertysale .. make her pay for the removal

check with locals laws and offer to clean it all up for a low fee... trust me the fee to remove plus the value of the parts will set you up in the biz for a few years ...
someone is trying to do this now .. only they are conna s**** the pile

surprised a auction company hasn't got wind o this too

quit thinkin about a few parts get the whole deal sounds fun :)

  12. damn shame, price of steel now, a s****er might be the highest bidder

I don't even know what most of those bodies are. Maybe you guys can help me. I am familiar with all of the 1955 and later stuff, but pretty clueless when it comes to the older stuff.

  20. Do whatever it takes to buy it all. There's a fortune there in old tin.

I can't afford to buy any of it! Hell, I maxed myself out just to finish my Belvedere. I am not even in the market for one more car, never mind a yard full! I didn't go out to the farm "shopping". Just went to have a look around. More than anything, I enjoyed spending the time and talking cars with my dad...

The only thing I left the yard with were these pictures and about a thousand mosquito bites. I wouldn't consider taking even the smallest part without first paying for it.

  24. Them phaetons are late teen,s or early 1920s Dodge. You can just see the round top of the grille shell.

  25. Hey Ledfut....you from Manitou? Me and a couple buddies (including Slow64 and a relative of the farm owner's) walked through "The Graveyard" a couple months ago.....there were a few tears shed, knowing none of them are probably ever gonna move again:mad: .....did you check out the 300 with the awesome "turbine" dash???

If that were my backyard, I'd be set for several years with project material! there are several cars in the I would use.

  28. The widow is probably slowly putting affairs in order. The best you can do is cultivate a pleasant relationship until she is prepared to deal with the old cars.
It might take a while but your patience could be rewarded.
I doubt that the cars rank very high on her list of priorities.

If it ever comes to it I'm interested in that '60 Polara

I want that TREE! I'd like that car left around it too. Please get me a price quote on excavation and shipping. By rail may be the best route to go.
