Yep...checked out the tractors and EVERTHING else at that show. It was my first trip there and I was surprised how popular that show is. It was a great day and we had a great time. I drove my 64 Oldsmobile down from Middletown, NY.

At least driving the Olds, the owner of the 57 Chevy might have figured I was taking pictures of his car because I like old cars...instead of thinking I was going to take the picture to Town Hall on Monday and demand that he be written up.

I've haerd those "My dead sons" car, "I'll fix it someday" stories a dozen times,I think these people love the attention of people stopping and asking!! **** em, they want to let it rot out there let it rot!!If ya got the money to buy it from them go get one from someone who has it up & running!
I really think these people belong to a "cult" they're right up there with the Moonies.
Ones that get me are the ones who are arrogant about you askin " No its not for sale!! Get off my propery or i'll shot you"!!! Like half the people askin wouldn't shoot back!!
Be a sorry day in hell when i let some old goober pull a gun on me because they think there still in Dodge city!!

There's an original 57 "Fuelie" 2door hardtop sitting in a welding/truck service shop on Telephone Road in Houston. Guy had it for 30 plus years, it's been inside, and outside, condition was saveable lasty I saw it.

Behind my house used to be all of this old farm land and one day me and my friends carved a path in the bushes and found some cool parts in a shed back there we were going to plan and go back there and get them one day but before we could the land was all sold. So i went to school one day and it was all there and i got back it was all gone. From what my neighbor has told me there was more then one old shed back there and one of them had an entire car in it something from the 50's mint condition and what does the clearing crew do when they find it hoist it up drop it and crush it into a pancake i was so pissed off 16 years of living in this house and i had no idea what was back there all these years and i could of saved a perfectly good car.

When I was 16 hunting whitetail in NY I stumbled across a late 40's chevy pu in the middle of the woods. Engine, ******, seat springs, gl***. . . it was beautiful. It was full of bullet holes, perhaps someday I will make my way back to it with a flatbed.

  9. A family friend's father has a 66 vette convertible (not really my kind of car), that's been sitting in his mothers garage since the early 70's. The car was hit in the drivers door in a parking lot, and then parked. I don't imagine it's too bad (I haven't seen it since I was a teenager (bout 10 or so years), I just couldn't understand why you would park a car cuz of a dent, and not fix it. My dad tried to buy it a bunch of times, but they refused.

If its been there that long it may be the one in the Hemmings calenders and the rust in piece book they put out. Theres a red one in someones front lawn in the book I got a few years back. Its good to keep up with people that have cars like that. Like was said earlier.."it will be for sale one day"

that car has been sitting there for as long as i can remember - i p*** it all of the time on business trips and just p***in' by on my time - it used to have "not for sale" written on it in white shoe polish on the windshield - it was on there so long you can't even read it now - what a shame! - you'd think someone could talk some sense into the owners, a reasonable price for it now(or for the last 30 plus years) is better than the alternative which is nothing because thats all thats gonna be left soon -

  12. I'm not a 57 chevy guy, but what do you feel a reasonable price is?

I have been told by some of the "older" car guys in the area that there was a Model A sitting there for years before the 57. I wonder what happened to that??

Kind of funny....this is the third 57 Chevy two door that I've spotted along the highways this summer. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera for the other two.

One was in Sullivan County, NY with a big sign that said "not for sale" and the other one was in central New Jersey near Trenton.

I know where a 62 vette has been sitting since 1972, Asked if it was for sale, he said maybe. He also told me about his anti theft devise was on it, he said as soon as he heres a chainsaw its beeing stolen because theres a tree growing through the floor. Then he gave me a set of really nice headlights for my hot rod and said to stop by from time to time....nice guy.....So at least stop and ask maybe you wont get the car but he might give you something cool!
