ok im seeing a lot of nice hot rod pics, but wheres the custom cars, like one my favs that radical custom 56 nomad with the 60 chrysler tails and kustom pan, or blue chevy right next to it with the packard tails

  2. I didn't take a lot of picks. Here are a couple of my faves.....

First pic...motorcycle! That's funny. Great pic's The coupe with the track-T nose is great. The '32 with the diamond on the grill is cool too.

The green '33-'34 rules everything else in this group of pics. Hat's off to the owner - who nailed "real".

  10. Ya,It's got an Olds Rocket in it too.Kind of a shame to cover it!

Yeah, we had about as much fun at the hotel as we could have with the police there. Kinda lame, but considering how we destroyed the place in '05 it's no surprise. We did some good burnouts and flamethrowing, the cops didn't seem to care, they just wanted to make sure it didn't get out of control. I think this was the first year a fight broke out through.

Awesome getting to meet new people and see friends I don't get to see often. Awesome time drinkin with LeadSledMerc, discussing the differences between needle point and knitting with Dave Paras, and catching up with Luke and Flatdog. This show never fails to satisfy

No Problem, just figured I would give you guys some suggestions to "reduce" the driving frustration. Sorry I didn't meet you or other HAMBr's I didn't even know there was a meet @ 12 anyway - and I know there were more guys there than who was pictured.

I think it was probably the best car there. I wish the owner was on the HAMB

I think the starting documentation of the build is in Magneto#17 - Autumn 2004. It is still available in a back issue from "Flash" or @ mag-neto.com
I haven't see or heard anything since reading that 2 page blurb about the car.
Anyone have more information/build pictures of the car, owner maybe?

The car is owned & built by Pete Flaven of the "alter boys" He lives in Mass.Car is really a sweet ride.I beleive he just got it on the road a few weeks ago.
It has a 324 olds with 2 dueces omn it, motor looks as good as the car.I think he wants that "salt flats" look so it has the hood.He really nailed that look perfectly, my blood pressure went up when i walked by the car from the salt!!lol
He is on the HAMB.Forget his Handle now someone will know it

I knew it was Pete's car, just didn't know all the specifics or that he was on the HAMB. I hope he chimes in about the car.

Just barely made it. I had enough enough time to take it for it's 1/2 mile maiden voyage Friday morning and ended up trailering it to CT. We (Assguy) put the front and rear glass in it at the hotel parking lot Friday when we got there. I was at least able to put a few miles on it over the weekend. Got a few bugs to work out, but it's runnin!:D

It was great meeting all you NJ guys and the "Russians". haha
Even though it was pretty quite at the hotels compared to 2 years ago, it was still an awsome time. Thanks to the Road Agents, it was a great show as usual.
Joe, the only reason I didn't bring my chebby over behind the Holiday Inn, was because I didn't want to embarass you with a decent burnout. Really it was because I didn't want to embarrass myself compared to the Assguys smoke shows! haha

awesome show, me and my little bro were still zapping welds on the truck at 3 in the morning saturday trying to get ready to leave and make it to the show, and the truck was ugly and rough but it ran good and made it! which was surprising since it had about 5 miles on it before we left for the about 40 mile trip up there. i didn't know we were going to have a hamb meet and greet i'm bummed i missed it but i did meet a couple cool hambers and saw a bunch of sweet cars, here's some pics i snapped off real quick

    here's the truck

The Rumble was great this year, possibly the best weather ever for this show. Looks like some guys beat me to the punch posting photos of Pete's new '33. (Yes this is the '33 that's been an ongoing build-up in Mag-neto issues #16, 17, and the 2006 annual...and it's totally amazing how well it turned out!).

Here's a shot of the cool sign Eli made, and Jared's new T roadster. This was the first Rumble for the T as well. The miles are quickly racking up on this one with that sweet-running flathead. All-in-all the weekend kicked ass, I loved seeing my pals' new rides going down the road. Casualties by the end of the weekend were minor: one lost fender skirt on I-84, a tranny stuck in 3rd, a ripped seat cover, some lingering effects from too much cheap beer and cheeseburgers...

    it's Pete.

    hahahahahahaha...

wish i coulda made it, but some family stuff came first.

  21. I should probably go to that show someday.

  22. Hey Arkracing -

First, that was a great show! Thanks to the Road Agents and especially Russ for helping me get home that night.

Second that guy is me. The guy with me is Clarlie, a cool guy who used to race at the Island dragway in the late 60s and 70s. The guy we were chatting with owned that Ardun powered 3-window, and what a story. Found the heads, engin and Halibrand quick-change in a guys place in Paterson, NJ, with 2 racing Allards (Caddy powered). And the body was pulled out of a collapsed barn in Rhode Island, also pulled out a Lincoln, though I didn't get the specifics on that.

Wish you had introduced yourself, I was looking for someone local with a welder, but thankfully I did run into Russ (from Southington).

Next time introduce yourself. I had the Orange primered 29 sedan (Thanks to you Boones, saw your post:D )

Thanks to all for the great time! One of the best shows I have been to!

Don't know who the HAMB guy was in this picture - I didn't introduce myself

    Hey guys,

Thanks for all of the kind words on my 33 coupe. The RA show was its first drive, everything went very well with no problems to report. Iv been building the car for 3 years and it was kick ass to finally drive it. I built the car from many pieces and parts. It's chopped 4 inches, chanelled 2 and the front post are laid back 10 dg. Its got a 55 old 324 with an edmunds 2x2 and 97's. I used a frod 4 speed toploader and a 55 chevy rear end with 355 gears. The rear of the frame has been z'd 5 inches and I used a 4 inch dropped axle up front. I made the track nose and my pal Russ Daley the king of aluminum formed the hood. Ill post some pics of the engine as soon as I can.

    Thanks again guys.

    Pete-

Ya right its cuz u didn't wanna hafta drive futhur to get to your trailer, haha. We saw the russians the next morning, she seemed a little weirded out by me and Joe seeing as Dave kept telling her she came on Sputnik in a really funny accent. He mentioned somehting about Peebuddy, Mass. too. Its all a blur. But at least I learned where the gay pilgrims settled. You guys rock, definite high point of the weekend.

Yeah, the Jerkury was really putting it down this year, laying some real rubber and keeping the Van Halen going. In '05 it was my '57 doing hardcore smoke shows and us picking up Dave's back bumper. Now he's the hero and I got the gimped out motor. Hopefully the show will continue on somewhere else where we can terrorize some other unsuspecting hotel.

Your Chevy got enough attention just sitting there, that thing rules.

I wanted to talk hockey with the Russian chicks from Canada, but I think Dave's comments turned her off..hahaha
