Damn, I had a great time at the rock and race!! I was in line to race the 1/4 and Littleman was in front of me! Real nice guy.. My son loved doing the burnout contest in my 65 electra with our holloween masks on (his idea- hey he's only 8). This was the first time I ever ran at the drags. Figured how hard can it be to hit the gas when you see the green light? I was over a half a second late the first run and 3/4 second late on the second run. lol. I now have respect for the drag guys.

I will just wait till Denise posts her story.........she does a great job. Jim did fine and it was an awsome event.....It would be nice to get the HAMB more involved so jim could limit the age of cars to 67.....It is 73 now.....It still was a blast! Don

Here's something better than pics... VIDEO!!

I wish I would've had my camera for the WINNEBAGO in the burnout contest, but here's some footage of the Hot Rod Hucksters racing.

OleMuleSkinner (52 Olds) vs Django (36 Ford),
Pacey (our drummer) vs. Sugar (65 Mustang; Lords of the Highway), OlMuleSkinner vs. Ace Brown (Model A sedan), and a few others

That would be OldBobSign. He does an AWESOME job making sure every HAMB person has a little momento of the different events. I'm sure glad Jim thought to bring one to you, we heard the annoucement regarding it. It was very kind of you to mention the HAMB over the PA. Thanks!

I got both still shots and video of the winnebago doing a burnout. Will post soon.

I was happy to promote H.A.M.B. over the PA. Too many people don't know what they are missing here.

Mark (our guest announcer) is a bit "computer challenged" but I try to stay on top of anything on the net related to the track.

Isn't it cool that Hellfish uses the YouTube ID of fleetline50 and the D/G '50 Chevy Fleetline of Bob Darlington was Sunday's $1,000 winner in the cash class. :)

this show is going to get better every year. We are hooked!
I would love to see the Hamb Drags east at this site.
Perfect area, the track is in good shape, lots of room.
Hope to see the bleachers repaired. Scarey!

I agree with Petejoe, however, didnt spend much time in the bleechers, but I would like to see the track paving co. problems resolved. You guys put on a great show and the staff was top notch! Thanks and I will be back! Oh, and I was serious about the ride in the Rebel Reaper! Don

    Yes and no..
Made it home fine. Its throwing oil slightly from the right rear cylinder. With slight knocking during high torque.
I havent tore it down yet. Hopefully its just a broken valve spring or something easy. I wanted to run it down the track. bummer....
    Still had fun!

I had a great time as well. It made me a little regretful I hadn't brought my non-HAMB friendly drag car.

I think it would be really fun to have the local manual transmission racers have a meet there that day. I noticed a few of them there anyways.

    Here is more about them..

I had a blast too! For MONTHS I have been hearing about how olemuleskinner was going to kick my ass in his Olds. I just laughed it off. I beat him and Pacey!. So I am OFFICALLY the fastest Huckster. :D

Petejoe, I saw your coupe and was looking for you but didn't see you anywhere. It looks even better in person.

Always great to hang with Denise and OldBobSign and Ace Brown and his family as well as Littleman and Don.

    What a great show.

The Shakedown was a blast. Got surnburned so bad the beer didn't even keep it from hurtin'. Saw the nicest 57 Fairlane I have ever seen. Met Stephen Fields, got to bust his ass for findin' all the cool stuff all the time. I heard after I left some fools were runnin' around naked. Bunches of nice cars and bikes. Blktopbandit had a camera......where's the pic's holmes??

Rock n' Race was great! even won me a little souvenir :D ,the coolest trophy i've ever seen, a cool guitar painted gold flake and pinstriped/lettered all up for the Battle of the Bands! I think me and Hellfish are going to have it out next year :D :D :D

also wanted to thank everyone for sticking around sunday to check out the band and thanks to Jim and especially dragway 42 for being cool guys (and gals!).

I forgot my digital camera so now i have to blow through 24 pictures on the roll to get them developed...otherwise i'd post some!

    Congratulations on your win.

That custom trophy for the "Battle of the Bands" race was awesome. You need to post a picture of it here for all to see.

Had a great time including to many cold ones. Got hurt when my new buddies from Norwalk helped me switch over from Budlight to Amberbak. Thanks for the free ones!. Woke up the next morning contorted in my car! Was great riding back to Columbus with a newly leaking trans pan gasket Lone Wolf and smoking all the way. I now have a caramel coated flowmaster. Made it ok after about three mercon refills. Such is the Hot Rod life. Was it me or were the bands on saturday night add a player all night long?
