can someone tell me were to place a vin# on a 1931 ford pickup ratrod frame? cab? both? and does it matter if i stamp the number on a piece of alum. or does it have to be more formal. thanks '
Best to check with your local DMV about when and where to place the number. I know Oklahoma laws are specific about the location on home built cars.
If i was you, I'd dropp the RAT ROD off anything you have posted here if you need a straight answer. Or go back & ask the guys on 'OL STOOL RODZ. Sorry man, Just my opinion
Yea 2 words pretty much ruined this thread for you. If you read any threads on here at all you would have quickly realized that the r word is highly disliked and made fun of.
It does'nt matter where you put it. You will be breaking federal law by doing it ...Good luck.....and don't drop the soap !
Rat Rod frames do not get a stamp you just sharpee a band-aid and put it anywhere. Now traditionally speaking a 31 model A has it stamped on the top framerail next to the clutch pedal. $.02
I thought Rat Rod frames were made out of barbed wire and skulls.... So you'd have to get the VIN tattooed on your arm....
Oh give the guy a break, he said RAT ROD big deal First do a search on this stuff before you ask a question that has been asked numerous times here on the HAMB. That beein' said, just between you and me , find/buy an "Original Document" or title and stamp it on top of the rails, driver side. Go to AAA register, done.
wow 31' rat rod series frames were of very limited production... you're lucky to have one. to answer your question the vin should be drawn by a three year old in crayon on the bottom of the re-bar tranny mount. brendan
ok i get it my mistake. will not use the r word again.thank you all who put a lagit reply the info was great.can some tell me how to post a pic of my hot rod so i can show it off thanks
The rat roddiest way would be to hang it from a chain on the rearview mirror like a dog tag. However the chain cannot be gold, it's sort of a red bandana/blue bandana thing with rodders........ PS, get on your state's DMV site and read until you know more than the title clerks. It'll take you far....
If it is the pickup pictured in your Avatar, you will fit in nicely. It looks like a ace little Hot Rod! Cheers Jimmy
