Kustom Kemps of America Salina this weekend

One of the koolest kustom shows in the kountry will be this weekend in
Salina. Last year there was well over 600 cars in town and I still have
dreams about it. The sad thing I'll be there without the Merc this year my
Merc is in the body shop. If I'm not taking pictures, I'll will be hangin out
with Night Prowlers and Ron Myers booths all weekend.

Most of the Stray Kats will be leaving early Friday and hopefully be
there around noon.

A crew of Kontinentals will be heading out for the show this week - bringing a bunch of Gary Howard Customs to the show. See ya'll there...

We will be meeting at the Kansas coliseum Thursday morning. Plans are to leave there around 12:00 and head north to Salina.

Gary Howard & a bunch of his kustoms will be there this year? Kool this was
the only thing missing from last years show. Hopefully I'll get the chance to
meet him. I've always been a fan just not had the opportunity to meet him.

Stray Kat Kustoms bring'n three new Kemps..... '30 Sedan and two '60
Caddys. Krobe bring'n his Hot Rod A to Salina and it has never been up
there yet.

We kan't beat ya guys!

 

I have baby sitting duties over the weekend, so I may just show up with my daughter. Last year was awesome, and I really don't want to miss it this time around. Keeping my fingers crossed.

 

here's the line up coming out of Austin........veritable rolling Kustom show, all Gary Howard built:
Jimmie Vaughan's '54 Ford Victoria
Jimmie's '63 Riviera (Well maybe not this one now)
Mike Young's '36 3W Ford (trying to get this one put back together at the 11th hour)
Mike's '60 Caddy Coupe deVille
Mike's '60 Chevy Impala "Exotica" and last but not least bringin' up the rear,
Me in my '57 Caddy Coupe deVille

This should be quite a site seeing all 6 of these together on the road. We leave very early Thurs morn and should hopefully arrive Salina by Thurs evening. Can't wait to eat Cozy's. Bringin' Reggie and Norm to help drive the cars. Man I can't wait.

 

Man, we are hoping to be there by this time next year. I am gonna be very busy next season.

 

Wow! This is going to be one hell of a gathering!!

I'm leaving Omaha for a Bonzai run after work on Friday. Hope to be there by 9pm.
Saturday I have to leave by noon to go to a wedding here in Omaha.

Even in that short amount of time, I know the trip will be worth it! I'm looking forward to meeting more of you guys.

Don't have a hotel set up yet, any affordable recommendations? Maybe just the Motel 6? I'm not picky, just need a place to p*** out and shower up in the morning....

Hey you all, don't fergit we're meeting at the Kansas Coliseum Thursday morning to Kruize up together, plan on leaving from there around noon ish........

 

Norm and I have been trying to condition ourselves for this drive. We've been sitting in cushy sofas, listening to some BB King with the AC sitting on 68. I think we got a handle on cruisin' without sweating . Plus, we're getting over the urge to dump the clutch and grab gears.

 

If everybody goes as planned there will be 8 of us heading down from Des Moines, Iowa leaving about 8 am on Thursday!! Cozy Burgers is deffinatly a place to go eat!!!!!!!!!!!!

drving a Kustom is like sitting on cushy sofas. You will be so kool kruzin up
