Been driving my a coupe almost non stop since i got it done,Seems the more i drive it the more projects i pick up.Was at the grocery store before work getting some lunch and a old guy comes up and says he has an old car in a ditch on the property he has.Anyways i went out out and bought a 32 five window for 50.00 with frame,no grill or qtr garnishs or decklid.Have people come up alot just to bullshit but my main source of finding vintage tin is driving my coupe, gas stations, grocery, dept.stores, parts stores etc.pretty proud of this find, its in better shape than my 32 stock car
Yeah kinda seems that way doesnt it,but i think at car shows and cruise ins swap meets alot of people are after the same things. It works for me.
I had a older fellow come up to me and ask if I wanted to come out to his family farm to look at his old car that was now in the tree that grew up through it. I passed up driving a hour one way to look at the car, figuring it was probably a chrysler from the 30-40s (as the guy thought thats what it was). Seen him about a month ago, he said the guy that came out and got it "SAID" is a 33 Ford Coupe and gave him $500 for it. I havent heard or seen anyone with any new project around, so I cannot tell the validity of this, just hear-say. The part about there really being a car in a tree and him selling it cheap is deffinitly true. What year and make it is is no idea though still, as its now gone. But still, it would be pretty neat to get a 33 3W on the cheap.
Haven't posted pics on here before,Ill have Tim do it as ive done in the past when i see him.The guy wouldn't let me drive across the pasture to get it so we had to carry it 100 yards to my truck and saw a tree and a bunch of roots growing thru the rims to get the frame loose, left the rear bumper in the tree trunk,it was encased in it. Also i gave the guy his asking price so i dont feel guilty.:I'll bring poloroids of it as found and getting it out to the hamb drags.
pics or I call shinanigans! your a lucky man! I cant find sh*t and I'm LOOKING HARD haha you get one practically given to ya!!
Pics...Pics...Pics...let's see the 32 Stock Car too!!! We got the lead on our 33 Chevy the same way. Once the one restored stock car was done...people would tell us about others that were around.
You should see if you can cut out that section of the tree. That'd be one hell of a conversation piece! put it in your living room with a glass top on it and call it a table!!!!!!!!
Finding old tin is a lot like chasing girls- it's ALWAYS easy to find more once you already got one! Ha Ha Ha. I've actually found lots of old tin out in the country just by meandering around in my own decrepit stuff.
