Well I'm starting to recover from the weekend...Whew! Lots of cars, lots of partying & lots of work. What a great weekend! I want to thank everyone who helped to make this years show a success. My wife Michelle Murphy, Dragway 42 track owners Jack & Toby Ehramtraut, Jill & Israel Smith, Craig "Grim" Koenig, Ed Davis, Darrin "Dirty Dag" Wilson, Erick & Big AL Kemper, The Choppers Hot Rod ***ociation, The Slick Devils Car Club, The Pistons Car Club, Punk from Hometown Hotrods Magazine, Stein from Old School Rodz, the guys from G***er Wars magazine & John from The Crusin Times. Also all the HAMB members who helped to promote the show, Meteorg***er, Hotrodladycrusr, Ace Brown, Hellfish, Django, Dragframe, Chevygirlrocks, G***er57, Don Moyer, Slick Kenny and I know I'm forgetting many others. Thanks for handing out those flyers & for spreading the word about the show, without everyone's help the show could not happen. Thanks to all the people who made trophies for the trophy contest, Hotrodladycrusr, Al Von, Meteorg***er, Eric, Guiseart, Dirty Dag & Hellfish.. Thanks to Empire32 for designing a kick *** t-shirt.. A big thanks to all the HAMB members that came to this years show. Last year I think we had maybe 5 HAMB members, this year I believe we had close to 50 HAMB members. Thanks Denise & OldBobSign for organizing the HAMB meet & greet and for making the stickers, name tags & banner...The bands, the vendors, car clubs & the people out just having fun. Thank you! Thanks to anyone I might have forgotten, without your support this show would not exist.. I have about 500 photos to go through. I'm just going to post a couple of my favorites now. More to come in the next few days. Thanks again everyone. Jim "Luckydevil" Murphy Burnout contest Miss Rock & Race winner Young HAMB kid jammin to the band

what a great people. thanks to all was a blast, all 3 days. the flattie ran well on the 3 hour ride there. thanks jim, see you all next year.
You put on a great show, Jim. It was very well organized, the weather was perfect, and everyone I talked to was having a great time. This was what I look for in a hot rod event, every bit of it. Thanks. Just waiting for next years show dates.
Thanks Jim for a great entertaining weekend, highlight for me was getting to watch Django and The HotRod Hucksters play live !! And of course seeing everyone and meeting alot of new people and Hambers. I almost did not go, being I had just been home from California, but am real happy I went.....But what I love to do more than anything.........and thats Drag Race, I have never been to DragWay 42, and I really liked the setup and the track was run very well !!.........I failed at what I had set out to do....and that was to kill my little 327, so I could finally rebuild it, it would have been rebuilt through the winter but I ended up in California.......I always run my Model A Pickup real hard, but was trying extra hard this time.......And after making p***es on Friday and all day Saturday that little 327 just kept running averaging around 12.50 in the quarter..........and then came Sunday morning, the first two p***es where in the 12.40's with the oil pressure looking real poor....So I went around for a third p***....backed into the burn out box, at this point the oil pressure was next to nothing, to the point it wanted to stall....I pulled out of the box did a real nice burn out, went to the line, oil pressure read 10.........I thought to myself she going to blow this time, I left the line hard with the oil pressure reading 10, finished the p***, and that 327 ran its fastest all weekend with my street jetting, running a 12.31 in the quarter...........Since she did not blow I will rebuild it, if it would have blown I was going to go with a little more cubic inches, but the old girl survived and will live to see another day........just can not knock on them Chevy 327's.................I can not wait for next year..........thanks also for The Driven Hard award etched in granite, its bad *** !!!........Littleman.........I am also gathering parts to build a new car that is strictly drag, something along the lines, that the Devil himself would not even drive.......
WoW............that tilt nose beetle back chevy g***er belongs to our racer friend, Bob Darlington from Versailles, Ky...Bob usually runs his beautiful Nova in Nostalgia Muscle Car. A serious compe***or and I have been looking for a picture of his "new" g***er...dam sure like the Vette taillites in it. Mark
What a GREAT JOB, Jim!!! Even though we could only make it on Saturday I can't imagine cramming any more into the hours we had. Finally making it to a venue I had heard about for years and to have it be an event of the caliber you presented was an amazing experience. It was terrific meeting so many new HAMB'rs, seeing old friends and catching up with a few of my striping buddies. Way too many highlights to list - already looking forward to next year!
This award was the coolest there and I'm thrilled it was presented to you......WELL DESERVED! Guiseart did a kick*** job per usual. It was GREAT watching you try to tear up the truck. Got some more shots I'll share later. Jim, thanks so much for an AWESOME event. I had a blast!
Congrats to Heidi for winning the pin up contest. She is super sweet. Thanks again Jim for a great time. Looking forward to next year. Have a date yet?
Thanks Jim! I had a blast! Littleman, I'm glad you enjoyed watching us play... we liked watching you race!
Bob's '50 is pictured on Dragway42.com I believe the photo is from the semi-final round on Sunday. I know it is not from the finals.
Thanks Jim for a terrific weekend! I had a great time seeing some old HAMBsters and meeting some new ones. Thanks for bringing the Hot Rod Hucksters, Twistin' Tarantulas and of course, Lords of the Highway, to our neck of the woods for a great show. Can't wait 'till next year!
So glad I made the trip up north. Weather was absolutely perfect, compared to hot sticky Florida. Thanks again to everyone that made this weekend a fun event for all of us. Here is a link to my photo take on the show and I'm posting a few favorites. http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e275/jakespeed63/Rock and Race/?start=0 Not real sure who owns all these fine rides, but they are definetly Kool..with a K. Hey Kevin(G***er57), will that wagon make it to Florida? I need a couple Tiki heads to ward off some eviel spirits. Not the FIRST time something like was done, but way cool none the less. Denise, you where so busy smoozing, you forgot to give me my long distance award. Both the shoebox and the Thunderbird get 2 thumbs up! Which Hamb Alliance member owns this truck? Have some burnout video's of Don and Little Dave, will try to post those. JT
Excellent time. Met some new friends. caught up with old ones. And the buick did'nt break down the whole trip. Thanks Jim.
Guiseart is responsible for that awesome trophy, I just picked the winner. You deserved it. Your engine is killer and you were pounding on it all weekend. Good stuff!! I can't wait to see what your next creation is going to be. Will it be done by next July for The Rock & Race???????
