are you kidding me right now ?

why would you do that ?

you should really think before you do..

    a model A has a great look all alone.it doesn't need all that...later 30's shit.

I agree, it looks great. My wife is wanting a 30 through 34 pickup and we have discussed doing the same thing if we get a 30 or 31. I have been wondering, is the crown pretty close so there isn't allot of fitting issues?

Once again, looks great cant wait to see it painted and installed.

Cool. I like it. There are somethings that a 32 can share with its earlier brothers and sisters and this is one of them

It looks good. When you drive a lot we need all the air we can get in.

  8. Nice job. Cowl vents go a long ways in helping the ventilation - even in open cars.

I had an A Vicky in the late 70's that had a dealer installed cowl vent in the left front quarter panel. Never saw one before or since.

There has been many a time I wish my A roadster had one. Eight to Ten hr. of driving on a hot day the floor gets a little warm, sure would help get rid of some of the heat!!

I put one in my '30 coupe. I have an original '32 vent and used a Brookville vent patch. The brackets and other pieces I fabricated. It definetely helps ventilation thru the cabin.

I like it! I may just do that to mine now!

  12. Nice touch and well done.

It'll help a lot in the keeping cool dept.

I'm guessing that those who don't like it have never had a car with a cowl vent and don't realize what a benefit they are.

    Anyhoo, big hole initially.
Required to get a good match on the A's cowl/tank curvature?

    Is that a 29 cowl/tank?
I've eyeballed the curvature on both my 31 and 32 roadsters and it looks to be a very close match far as the 32 vent goes.

Fwiw - I've found the Bob Drake cowl vent gasket to work very well.
    Doesn't leak a drop in the 32.

    Do you mean "later '30s shit" like you'll find on '26 & '27 "T"s?

  14. Looks great, bro. I had a truck with kick vents (on the side). I'd like to add vents to whatever I end up with, since it's nice to get breeze in from below.

That looks good and will help a ton. I'd like to smack the idiot who filled the cowl vent on my '39.

  17. Actually, that was the gas tank filler lid, not a cowl vent.

  18. That must be why everyone puts those ugly 32 grills, frames, gas tanks, headlights, bumpers, trannys, engines, ect on their Model A's. Oh, and it would be fucking insane to put those silly "late 30's shit" hydrallic brakes on an earlier car....

the curve of the 30 tank fit the vent patch well, i hardly used and filler,

Oh skratch is joking, i got the vent from his ass, and yes he loves 30's shit on model A's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Looks great! I have been considering something similar to Charlie chops, I figure a cowl vent in the side would help alot since I get pletty of air through the window, but the floor stay pretty hot - been looking at them on delivery trucks for a couple years. Also they are realitvely affordable.

I've always heard of the vents in the quarter called "skirt blowers". I love vents though, and A's can get pretty stuffy anyway.

    Jordan,
Wish i would had had one in mine when i had a model A, the inside would get pretty toasty at times from the heat of the engine in the summer:(

Nice touch ...i like and good job!

I was thinking of and looking into putting a 35/36 vent in a Model A some day:)

  26. Talented bastard, he's 18 , weights 100 lbs, wears braces, but knows more about cars than most guys I know. Watch out for Jordie.
    Good job on the vent.

I had a '28 fordor that had what appeared to be a factory vent in the left cowl side, sure helped here in muggy Florida. Cowl vents with bad gaskets are a bitch here during our rainy weather....if you drive them!

Great addition to your great car. Cowl vents are a wonder. I'm always so hot I need all the cooling I can get and you too.
