Some of you have seen it and some of you haven't. I got on the stick this week and knocked out a couple things that were holding me up from doing others. Big thanks to the fellow hambers who have bought parts from me which have funded this build and and the one who've sold me parts! Here's the coupe if you haven't seen it before, I think it's at about 50% so far. Got my steering box from Pandragger, added the 46 tube and the hudson wheel and shortened it several inches. It's all permanent now and awaiting the S curve on the pitman arm and the steering rod. Got the gauges (bought here from an unknown hamber, Thanks!) finished in the 49 ford dash, just gotta weld up a little slot in the center and finish the glove box latch. And Last got my brake pedal mounted along with the wilwood cylinder, another hamb special, thanks to the hamber that sold it to me! The pedal is an ebay special and the pad is also. BIG THANKS TO THE HAMB AND IT'S MEMBERS! I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU GUYS!!!
Thanks PD! Yep it's getting a 10" haircut! and I'm keeping the top open, maybe a removeable vinyl or something of that nature...
The chop will probably be the last thing I do, cause it's so much easier to do the things inside I need to do while it's easy to get in and out of.
If anyone has one, I need a new back rear window panel and sides. the beltlines are rusted through in mine!!
I'm not bashing your car,,, I like what your doing but I was bored and I decided to have some photoshop fun..I moved the front in and chopped it a few more inches... Somthing about that really long frame thing that just don't look right.. Proportions is a big part of the build,,Weesner once told me.. the object to getting the right proprtions is to have everthing as close as you can to the next... Ratiator is close to the engine, engine is close to the fire wall,,ETC>> Again this in my own opinon and i'm just talking about my taste..witch don't mean much.. But keep at it it will be a fun ride.... Just my 2 cents.. Evel
It looks really long without the grille in there, and the chop gonna happen no matter what... but those frontend proportions you have going on are unreal. I don't think there is any reallistic way to get it that close, especially with the channel/Z/V8.... thanks though!
Leave it tall...I love the way it looks now. But then again, uhhh, it is your car, isn't it. Forget what I said....except for "I love the way it looks"
Well with 18" windows, I'll have 8" windows when done, that should be just about right. I'll be sectioning the header panel also so my windshield won't exactly loose a full 10". Plus the back window will be moved down and left a little larger so it won't loose the 10" whack.
Cool! Looking good. Can't wait to see it as well. Nice to see someone else around this area building a T Coupe. DuckusCrapus
Well I was right with you till the chop. I just love the wacky tall T look. Reminds me of the old northeastern modifieds and some of the wacky 60's show cars. I wish mine hadn't already been cut 6" before I got it. Like you said its easier to work in there now, unchopped it would be easier to get in and out of latter too. Good luck anyway, it's a neat project.
I'm not running a stock axle, and I'm not using a model a frame either. that's why his proportions were unrealistic. Wow I thought that was a model till I saw the white car in the back ground. I've seen that coupe before several times in r&p... very cool!!!! Nice job!
