  2. Damn, that ****s! :(

You can bet Looserville has its speed traps set up. I see enough of them driving around on the cell phone. Too busy, my ***.

I hope you get your stuff back, these good ole boys here can spot parts a mile away. ;)
If they show up local, some one will know.

Just curious, anyone know if you can get insurance on a storage unit?

I've got homeowners and it'll cover everything, even whats in the garage. But I don't know if you can include things that are not on the property - probably not.

Anyway, good luck with the Lewisville cops. They are worthless. In fact, most of the people (you and a few select others excluded) in Lewisville are worthless.

  6. Be sure to read the damn policy. My house got broken into last august. They stole $8500.00 in guns, my computer, some of the wifes ****, jewelry, purses, expensive shoes and turned our bedroom upside down. Needless to say my policy would cover only 500.00 in guns and 500.00 in jewelry. I never thought I would be hit. That was a very painful lesson to learn.... still stings. I hope the pieces of **** get caught.

"Some" storage facilities offer insurance , you would have to ask them each as you enter the agreement

You can not insure thru any other company , checked into it
and came up with a big fat no ..

I'm not too sure the insurance in a pinch would honor the agreement
sounded like snake oil sales pitch to me

Face it ... You are screwed ...
Even if you find the stuff ... the POLICE ... will do nothing.

I was broken into in 1975 ... thieves got my Mac upper and lower roll around full of good stuff. Plus some car parts. I found some of the wrenches at a pawn shop a week later. WITH MY INTIALS engraved on them ...

Police said ... that could be anyones intials .. :(

Never got the first piece back ...

I was able to get a "renters" policy through State Farm for stuff I stored. However it didn't pan out in my case as I was storing mostly tools (and a roll away) and they don't cover tools. Seems they would have told me that before they wrote the policy. I wasn't robbed, some bean counter caught it. Which I guess is better than finding out after I file a claim.

Yeah .. You can't get coverage "off site"
    example :

You leave YOUR CAR at your BUDDIES in his garage ..
    bzzzz
It gets cobbed , its not covered ..

    READ YOUR POLICY ..
renters insurance is different , its your domicile (apartement)

Yeah it all ****s,the storage unit was Croos Country Mini storage on Cowan Dr. In Lewisville.Manager looked thru his tapes found a few days with supective vehicles. One was similar to a moving van with a design on the side and it looks like a big swan across the back door. They were there for 8 mins. pulled out a ramp and rolled something in (large like a tool box) 2 guys. Then about 2 days later 2 pickups show up and where there for 2 hrs. loading up with several people. His video players isn't good enough to get a close up but a co. next to the race shop thinks they do .I'll know more tomorrrow.Manager was going to just hand them to the police.I told him I would make sure they got the tapes, but first I'll look thru them to try and get descriptions and or plate #'s.Another guy next store has access to data system He's like give me a plate # I'll give you names and address. Also I have a picture of the intake with carbs and stacks, also have different styled aircleaners,(helmet style) Also pic of 1 wheel. Can't get them up on here.If someone can help pm me and I'll email you the 2 pics so they can be put up on here.'m trying to find more pics as well. Hey Tony ,yeah our win total is up to 5 now. Thanks again guys.

Will keep a sharp lookout..........over here in Frisco...

We don't get a lot of "walk in" trade, but a few do stop by every now and then with parts for sale..

Will post your list on the wall by the front door.

I just joined and saw your post, I'd like to ask, did you lose complete engines? I noticed 2(two) complete 348/409 engines on a car hauler on I-40 near Barstow CA. about 3 days ago.

    Sorry about your stuff.

Hey Dub ,answer to your question yes it was a complete engine but it was a complete short block, then 2 heads, Intake and carbs were in a box all wrapped up.Along with a lot of other boxes, all brown cardboard tapped up and labled. So what you saw was probably not it.Thanks anyway. Some of this stuff maybe up in Oklahoma. The guy that was on duty when I moved in was the manager/owners friend from OK.He kept driving by on the golf cart saying things like hey what ya got oh thats cool, etc.Never really talking with the guy but makes me wonder? For all I know this stuff could still be onsite but the cops won't cut locks and open doors. We can't do that without a court order. We'll go get one jack***!!
