Found this old coupe...whats left of it anyway...tucked in the bush with about 5 26-30 Es***'s. The body tag says it's a "Body By Fisher"...this means it's a GM correct? There are still quite a few usable parts left I'm sure, but would definitly take some sort of Rod God to make her a project...Let me know...Thanx

You didn't find a car..you have found some stuff which may have been part of a car decades ago...Cowl and light buckets might be handy though

  3. If it has a body tag, the fastest way to get an ID would be to post the numbers that are on it, the job number or the style number. Since there is a motor in it, knowing the type and number of cylinders would help too.

While the dash reminds me some of a '29 Oakland we have around, I'm not up enough on them to say for sure. The curved reveal on the cowl top was found on LaSalle, Pontiac and some other early GM cars of that period.

If I'm seeing correctly it's got a small area that pops up in the cowl, if that's the case it's Pontiac hands down,I'd say around a 28 to 30, and the dash is different in the gauge area than the 30 chevy one I have, so that's not it.

That is a 27 or 28 Oakland/Pontiac. Take a look at the guage cluster if it's not too far gone and see if there is a design with acorns and oak leaves. I know that is Oakland. I think Pontiac used the same dash in those years and basically changed the grill shell. Good luck.:D

The body # is 1155, and the job# is 8250...I think...kinda hard to tell.

I thought Oakland became Pontiac and the two makes were not produced at the same time.

I agree with bigd4xman that the bump in the cowl indicates a Pontiac. Oakland cowls are smooth. Also Pontiac and Oakland were made at the same time with the first Pontiac in 1926 and the last Oakland in 1931. Hope this helps.

  9. '28 Pontiac, my spotter's guide clearly shows the dash is a match, the hood louvers with the raised panel around them, and I think I can make out the fancy sculpting on top of the cowl, also the reveal line, although I can't quite see the side of the cowl(very helpful when trying to ID) the bead is right on the quarter, and the curve of the sheetmetal where it would meet the top.

Just wanted to add some info that might help a bit...The visor(pictured laying inside the car in the second pic) has two curved brackets, possibly br***, that attached to the upper windshield posts. Unfortunatley, I don't have any decent pics of these. I've searched for pics of 28 Pontiacs, and the visors are clearly different. Also, pics of the Es***'s are on the way...Thanx for the help.

    Everything looks saveable.

    Especially that green Es***.

Get it before someone hauls it off for dog food cans.

The visor laying in the car is the same as the one on my 27 Oakland. I looked up a photo of a 28 Pontiac coupe and it appears to use the same brackets to attach to the windshield post. The visor should have holes along the edge where it screws to the underside of the header above the windshield.
