I got a big box full of old 8x10 photos at an estate sale and scanned them. They were all taken in and around Meridian Mississippi in the 20's and 30's. Here are a few of the car pics:
Yes, the picture has Rosco Turner, Al Key, and Fred Key written on it. I have no idea who any of them were though.
« It’s the Votus! strap on your wooden Pilotis » 1939 rocket car Spotted this in SIA #146 from March/April 1995. At such a cost to build back then, it would hardly make sense to have s****ped the Mars Express. Somebody please tell us this still exists. <SMALL>This entry was posted on Saturday, January 27th, 2007 at 8:11 am and is filed under Daniel Strohl, hot rods and customs, alt-fuel cars, one-offs and homebuilts. Another added to the list of cars I need to find before I die. Kinda’ reminds you of a McQuay Norris on steroids (or jet fuel, as the case may be). <LI cl***="" id=comment-121528><CITE>Vic Stapel</CITE> Says: <SMALL cl***=commentmetadata>January 27th, 2007 at 5:00 pm </SMALL>Just imagine what AUDI created in the 30 thats on for Auction now for estimated 15 million US next month and it drove certified 300km/h <CITE>Bob Marly</CITE> Says: <SMALL cl***=commentmetadata>May 10th, 2007 at 9:46 am </SMALL>this is a cool car Leave a Reply <FORM id=commentform action=http://blog.hemmings.com/wp-comments-post.php method=post><INPUT id=author tabIndex=1 size=22 name=author> <LABEL for=author><SMALL>Name (required)</SMALL></LABEL> <INPUT id=email tabIndex=2 size=22 name=email> <LABEL for=email><SMALL>Mail (will not be published) (required)</SMALL></LABEL> <INPUT id=url tabIndex=3 size=22 name=url> <LABEL for=url><SMALL>Website</SMALL></LABEL> <!--<small>XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" ***le=""> <abbr ***le=""> <acronym ***le=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <code> <em> <i> <strike> <strong> </small> --><TEXTAREA id=comment tabIndex=4 name=comment rows=10 cols=100></TEXTAREA> <INPUT id=submit tabIndex=5 type=submit value="Submit Comment" name=submit> <INPUT type=hidden value=2719 name=comment_post_ID> <INPUT id=sk2_my_js_check1 type=hidden value=b5np7rl91z name=sk2_my_js_check1> <INPUT id=sk2_my_js_check2 type=hidden value=a749e3806ea0d322f09ac6416f835f6f name=sk2_my_js_check2><SCRIPT type=text/javascript><!-- do***ent.write('<input type="hidden" id="sk2_my_js_payload" name="sk2_my_js_payload" value="'); do***ent.write(Math.round ( Math.abs(Math.round ( Math.abs((Math.round ( Math.abs(((Math.round ( Math.abs(1 / 39)) + 8) + 2) / 26)) * 7) % 30))))); do***ent.write('" />');--></SCRIPT> <INPUT id=sk2_my_js_payload type=hidden value=0 name=sk2_my_js_payload> <INPUT id=sk2_time type=hidden value=1185765196 name=sk2_time><INPUT id=sk2_ip type=hidden value=216.69.241.19 name=sk2_ip><INPUT id=sk2_payload type=hidden value=eec3fec701de3be518ec0d07b28c0ee9 name=sk2_payload><SCRIPT language=JavaScript type=text/javascript><!-- Event.observe($('commentform'), 'submit', cpr_insert_key);//--></SCRIPT> </FORM> <HR>
Well,..... If that car was successful, it's probably still sitting on Mars. I heard they didn't take enough gas to make it back to earth. haha
