yeah just noticed you were one of lukes friends. man that guy was weird. did he ever tell you the story about him stealing walrus's and getting called gay by a 14 yr old girl?
Lot´s a guys using Acetone ore mothballs for mileage. Sounds scary but who knows? Since they switched to the "Reormulated Gas", gas isn`t what it used to be. It smells different, even got an different "exhaust note" (not the tone), if you got it in the tank for a year, the engine is almost unable to start, with the alcohol it contains now it starts a***ulating water and grow aggressive bacteria in your tank, leave allone the rust and gives significant lower mileage There is a lot of research and "try`n error" here: http://www.mpgresearch.com/ Have a look on this site. They try out almost everything. Frank
i had 3 month old gas in my old 62 cutl*** and it ran like ****. once all the old gas was out it ran fine. ran out of gas in my 64 chevy pick up and had some 2 yr old gas and put that in my truck. ran the smoothest, most power, and quietest it ever ran.
can i offer my two cents? dont buy it unless it has an MSDS sheet. dont bother if it costs $19.95, either. the fact still remains that MMT is the best octane booster and xylene is next. the fuel you add shouldnt be what gives you better mileage or not, it should be how much is going in. i was at canadian tire the other day buying some brake fluid and i saw a bottle of Lucas mileage booster, or some **** like that. comes in a small, tall bottle. knocked the top off, and you know what? it smells like 50c of canola/****seed oil in a $6.95 bottle. dont bother!
This here is from Wikipedia: "When gasoline is left for a certain period of time, gums and varnishes may build up and precipitate in the gasoline, causing "stale fuel." This will cause gums to build up in the cylinders and also the fuel lines, making it harder to start the engine. Gums and varnishes should be removed by a professional to extend engine life. Motor gasoline may be stored up to 60 days in an approved container. If it is to be stored for a longer period of time, a fuel stabilizer may be used. This will extend the life of the fuel to about 1-2 years, and keep it fresh for the next uses. Fuel stabilizer is commonly used for small engines such as lawnmower and tractor engines to promote quicker and more reliable starting." 60 days Whe I was 15 I was not intrested in gas specs- just how to get the money to fill the tank of my little bike - but I don´t remember that gas had a expiration date in those days. Cow magnets, additives etc. A tail wind worked for me a couple of times. This is a proven trick for driving that car or truck farther on a tank of gas! This works everytime!!!!!!!! If you have a 20 gallon tank replace it with a 40 gallon tank.
I have a 42 gallon tank in my Surburban, does not work that good either. The biggist problem is gas station pumps shut off at $50, $60, or $75 depending on where you are. Pain to fill up that way. And food for thought car company pay big fines for not meeting MPG requirements if there was a cheap answer GM or Ford would be using it.
if you google search you will also find out that this is one of those "get rich quick with your own home business buy 20 cases from us and sell it to all your friends for us" deal
Ha ha -- cow magnets. Back in the late '70s these were the thing. My uncle and old man got into those. My uncle worked for a renderer and got my old man buckets of the magnets for free. They placed an ad in the paper "used cow magnets for sale" (of course I don't remember the price but I remember them saying that it was about 5 times what new ones cost at the Fleet and Farm) Since they were the "big thing" people would call my old man and ask "do they really work?" To which he would always reply, "Yes, you get the cow to swallow one and when it is grazing and accidentally eats something ferrous the magnet will keep it out of the lower GI tract." "No do they really improve gas mileage?" "I don't see how they could, I have all these magnets and have never tried it because I just don't believe it would work." "Well, it can't hurt to try, I'll buy a pair and see if it works." Several people returned to buy multiple pairs because they swore it work, and IMHO I would say that it did! Think about it, the guy goes through the trouble of taping these things to his gas line, you don't think for a minute that he is not going to pay attention to his driving habits and therefore improve his mileage?
This stuff is astonishing! I used it along with a spinning thing in my carburater, a gizmo that goes into the distributer for the coil wire and a magnite that goes around the gas line. I put in 6 and a half gallons of gas the beginning of April and I now have nearly a full tank and have driven over 6,000 miles!!!
When I was young and stupid I used to mix my own additives. One day I got the Kerosene mix a little off and melted a hole in the top of a piston... that shot out the oil pan! Ouch! I had been doing my own mix for like 6 months at that point with nary a problem, but after that, I decided that I had better only put stuff in there that someone else had been the ginuea pig on. ~Jason
I got some **** from an Amsoil dude.Greatest thing since sliced bread. 2 days later I'm pulling my blown engine & he's a bag of excuses. The rest of the bottle went on the roof of his truck. Stay away from the ****. Al
I started reading on his gas money web site because the "power plus" thing sounded familiar, and sure enough, I actually know who the owner is. His name is Brent Holland and he started pushing Power Plus diet pills years ago, FDA has all but ended that so now he's doing this, but not after he made a lot of money. He lives in Louisiana and keeps a new ferrari or Lamborghini in his showroom mostly for motivation for his distributers, like who you ran across. I have a good friend who worked for him in the diet pill days. As far is if it works or not? It would be hard to convince me.
